Backstage RAW News: Chris Masters, SSlam Main Event, Shaq

The dark match before RAW in Washington, DC saw Jamie Noble defeat Alex Riley.

Chris Masters made his return to WWE action on RAW this week, wrestling MVP to a double countout. Masters is using his old gimmick and finisher, the Masterlock.

As determined on RAW from a series of Beat the Clock matches, Randy Orton will defend his WWE Title against John Cena at next month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.

Shaquille O’Neal was asked by the Washington Post he agreed to host RAW this week: “Well, one, I’m a fan,” O’Neal said. “My kids are fans. Me and Shane McMahon have been friends for a long time, so Vince called me and he asked me would I like to host. I asked my kids if they wanted me to host, they said they wanted me to host, so actually I’m just doing my fatherly societal fan duties.”
