WWE Drops Major RAW Storyline, Tyson/Broadway, & More

— WWE has reportedly abandoned the storyline of a legend wrestling on RAW each week leading up to the 1,000th RAW. Instead, they have changed direction and will focus on the former General Manager hosting RAW and SmackDown every week. Mick Foley hosted this week and Vickie Guerrero will host next week.

The New York Times has covered Mike Tyson’s upcoming Broadway show in a new article.

— A screening of the documentary: GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling will be held this Saturday in New York City at the 92nd Street Y. A promotional blurb for the film reads: “GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling chronicles the rise and fall of the first ever all-female wrestling show through the stories of those who lived it. From the initial open-call auditions, to the grueling training with wrestling legend Mando Guerrero, to over-night success and global recognition, to the show’s sudden and unexpected cancellation in 1990, the GLOW girls recall their time on the show with a mixture of heartfelt nostalgia and tearful regret over injuries and the loss of friends. For some, the show was a brief foray into acting and a short-lived adventure on the way to a normal life. For others, that time in GLOW would impact and influence their lives for years to follow. For all of the women, working on GLOW was a unique and exciting experience that will bond them forever.”

— Kristoffer Diaz, author of The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, will teach a one-time playwriting seminar on June 30 in New York City. The seminar discusses taking what you know and love and putting it in your play. Meanwhile, Diaz’s play will be held in Boston soon.
