Backstage News: Who Handles WWE Payroll?, Elgin/WWE

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

— To correct something we reported last week, ROH star Michael Elgin was not at the WWE tryout camp last month. We apologize for the error.

— According to sources, Triple H is now handling all WWE talent payroll. This comes after Sean Cleary, who had taken over for Jane Geddes as head of WWE Talent Relations, left that position and is now back to his original position in Human Resources. The feeling is that Triple H won’t last long in this role as he already has a lot on his plate. He’s simply handling the duties while the company looks for a suitable replacement.

— Here are some recent WWE attendance figures:

* March 28th – Raleigh, NC – 7,500 fans.
* March 29th – Charlottesville, VA – 7,000 fans.
* March 30th – Norfolk, VA – 7,200 fans.
* March 31st (RAW TV taping) – Washington, DC – 12,500 fans. This was a legit sellout. For what it’s worth, Michael Cole announced the “official” attendance as 15,288. This is a case of WWE inflating their numbers as they often do.
