Dean Ambrose, John Cena & The Authority Kick Off RAW

This week’s show opens up with an elaborate video package highlighting the history of the John Cena, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins feud.

From there, Dean Ambrose’s theme hits and out he comes. He opens by saying there’s nothing he’d like more than to be locked inside Hell In A Cell with Seth Rollins. He talks about how he’d like to brutalize him.

He switches gears to explain that he’s got to get through John Cena before he can get to Rollins. He talks about the No Holds Barred contract-on-a-pole match. He reminds us that he told us he had no problem dropping Cena where he stands, and he did, but he reminds us that Cena did the same to him.

Ambrose throws the mic down, thinking he’s done, but Cena’s music hits. Ambrose picks the mic back up as Cena makes his way out to the top of the stage.

Cena makes his way to the ring to the usual mixed reaction. The boo’s grow in Atlanta as Cena’s music fades down. “So this is why they call it Hot-Lanta, huh?” opens Cena. He tells Ambrose he needs to relax. He says the match is made, but it’s two weeks from now at Hell In A Cell.

Cena tells Ambrose he’s got the biggest match of his life at Hell In A Cell, so he’s going to give him some veteran advice: “shut up.” Cena tells Ambrose to quit acting crazy and save his energy for Hell In A Cell.

Ambrose thanks Cena for his veteran advice, but says no thank you. He warns Cena not to talk to him like he’s some kind of chump. Cena again warns Ambrose to chill out. Ambrose drops the mic and is about to get physical, but The Authority comes out and stops them.

Triple H starts by telling both guys that they have two weeks until their fight. After a corny WWE Network “$9.99” plug, Steph talks about making a tag-team match with those two as partners tonight. Steph mocks their argument, HHH and her argue over whether or not Cena and Ambrose can be partners without killing each other.

Steph goes on to announce a match with Cena and Ambrose against The Usos and Goldust and Stardust. It’s a triple-threat tag-team match, as she calls it.

John Cena & Dean Ambrose vs. Goldust & Stardust vs. The Usos

With that said, the WWE Tag-Team Champions, Goldust and Stardust make their way out to the ring. Out next are the former champs, The Usos. Apparently this match is happening right now. We head to commercial during The Usos’ entrance.

When we return from commercial, Ambrose and Uso start things off in the ring. Ambrose establishes control and quickly tags in Cena. Cena picks up where Ambrose left off as the fans do the dueling “let’s go Cena” and “Cena sucks” chants. Cena tags Ambrose back in.

The story of the match early on seems to be the fact that Ambrose and Cena are able to co-exist. They keep dominating their opposition and tagging the other back in to continue where they left off. Uso finally establishes control over Cena and after a quick double-team spot, the other Uso tags in and remains in control as the fans jump on Cena’s case again with chants.

A random “we want Stardust” chant breaks out as Uso keeps Cena grounded and Stardust jumps up and down on the bottom rope from the apron, hoping for the tag. Instead, Cena finally makes the tag. Ambrose comes back in and takes back over control of the offense over Uso. This lasts until Stardust tags himself in, smacking Ambrose on the back. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial break.

We’re back from the break and Stardust and Uso are still going at it in the ring. Stardust appears to be firmly in control, as he crotches Uso on the middle rope in the corner and tags Goldust in. Goldust picks up where Stardust left off, taking it to Uso. He goes for a pin attempt, but the other Uso breaks it up.

Finally, after all the guys take themselves out, Cena gets the tag and is left alone with Stardust in the ring. Cena fires up, including a big Five Knuckle Shuffle. Stardust avoids the A.A., which leads to a quick slam from Goldust and a super kick to Goldust from Uso. Both Usos hit the big dives over the top onto the Dust Brothers on the floor. Cena ends up climbing to the top and splashes all four team members on the floor as Ambrose says screw it, runs to the opposite top rope and hits a wicked flying elbow onto all guys on the floor.

Ambrose rolls Goldust and Cena back in the ring. Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds while Cena hits the A.A., both on the Dust Brothers. Cena makes the cover. 1-2-3. Cena and Ambrose win.

Winners: John Cena & Dean Ambrose

After The Match: The Authority Returns And Makes Tonight’s Main Event

After the match, Cena and Ambrose celebrate in the ring until The Authority come back out. HHH admits Steph was right. He pays her $1. He says he hates to lose though. He says maybe those two just lacked the proper motivation to “make this all go down.” He says why wait until Hell In A Cell to find out who gets the shot at Rollins. HHH says lets hang a contract on a pole and Cena and Ambrose can tear each other limb from limb. He doesn’t care, only one of them will get the chance to face Rollins inside Hell In A Cell and it’ll be the man who takes that contract down. He says those two WILL tear each other apart. “John Cena and Dean Ambrose tonight, hell starts for both of you.”

AJ Lee & Layla vs. Paige & Alicia Fox

After all of that chaos, AJ Lee’s theme hits. We’re set for Divas tag-team action. We see highlights of last week’s RAW where AJ and Emma teamed up against Paige and Alicia Fox. We see AJ walking out on Emma, costing Emma the match. From there, we’re back live on RAW where Michael Cole questions who AJ will team up with this week to take on Paige and Alicia Fox. We head to commercial on that note.

We return from commercial to see that Layla is AJ’s partner for tonight and then we see a split-screen “earlier tonight” interview with AJ Lee, where she hesitantly accepts a hug from Layla after promising her she can trust her for at least one night. After that, Paige and Alicia Fox make their way to the ring. Here we go with our second match of the evening.

AJ and Fox start things off. AJ takes control of Fox early on and tries to drag her over and force her to tag Paige. Fox refuses, gains control of the offense and once AJ is laid out, she tags Paige in. Paige plays around too long, so AJ is back up. Paige runs away from AJ outside the ring, runs back in and tags Fox in before AJ can get her hands on her.

Fox gets her leg stuck on the ropes. AJ goes for the tag, but Layla jumps off the apron, leaving her high and dry. AJ smiles, turns around and hits a shining wizard on Fox for the 1-2-3.

Winners: AJ Lee & Layla

After The Match

AJ turns her attention to Layla on the floor. She runs up the ramp and tackles her down. She drags her back to ringside and slams her face-first on the barricade. And again. She grabs the Divas title and skips back up the ramp as her music plays. After this, we head to a commercial break.

Backstage: The Authority & Randy Orton

Backstage we see Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. In walks Randy Orton. He says before he goes out there and destroys Dolph Ziggler he wants to discuss one thing. He talks about Seth Rollins talking about how he’s the future of WWE and he wants the spotlight. He says that’s okay with hmi as long as he doesn’t take his spotlight. He says he knows Cena and Ambrose can beat Rollins, but neither of them can beat him. He asks The Authority to give him the loser between Cena and Ambrose at Hell In A Cell. HHH says that sounds good. Steph tells him she likes her enthusiasm. JBL ends the segment on commentary by saying, “TWO Hell In A Cell matches?!”

Wyatt Family Vignette

Another Wyatt Family vignette airs, seemingly focused on Erick Rowan this time. We see a lot of the same quick-cuts in the woods, barns, etc., only this time, Rowan and the sheep mask is the focus, more so than Luke Harper. Bray is talking a lot, but most of the visuals are of Rowan. Rowan even has a line or two in the package talking about how “he’s going to hurt you, just like you hurt me.” Bray says “they shall feel the smoke of his burning.”

Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton

After that bizarre Wyatt Family vignette, Dolph Ziggler’s music hits. The WWE Intercontinental Champion makes his way to the ring for his match with “The Viper” Randy Orton. With that being said, we head to commercial during his ring entrance.

When we return from commercial, Ziggler is shown in the ring. Cesaro is shown joininng the gang on commentary for this match. Randy Orton’s theme hits and out he comes for this one-on-one match.

Cesaro talks about how Ziggler owes him a rematch for the I-C title on commentary as “The Viper” makes his way to the ring to a pretty positive reaction from the fans in Atlanta. The regular announcers talk about the Orton match at Hell In A Cell that was confirmed earlier (the loser of the Cena-Ambrose match later tonight).

Straight from the word go, “The Viper” is in control of this one. He takes his time and slowly takes apart the I-C champ as Cesaro argues with the announcers on commentary.

Ziggler finally starts getting in some offense, including a picture-perfect dropkick. We see Seth Rollins make his way out to the top of the stage as we immediately head to a mid-match commercial.

We return from commercial to see Rollins still on the stage and Orton in control over Ziggler in the ring. Rollins slowly creeps his way to the ring as Ziggler starts fighting back. His comeback attempt doesn’t last long, however, as Orton regains control of the offense.

Ziggler finally gets in some offense, but during his big comeback, out of nowhere, while in mid-air, Ziggler falls down right into an RKO from Orton. That was actually pretty awesome. After the match, Rollins enters the ring, hits a Curb Stomp on Ziggler and we head to commercial.

Winner: Randy Orton

Seth Rollins vs. Jack Swagger (with Zeb Colter)

When we return from commercial, we see Rollins still looking proud of what he just did. Highlights are shown of Rollins’ Curb Stomp to Ziggler before the break.

Out comes Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. The fans are loudly behind “The Real American” in Atlanta tonight. The bell rings and here we go with one-on-one action.

Rollins gets in some good offense early on, but eventually, Swagger’s size and strength is too much for “Mr. Money In The Bank.” Out on the floor is Swagger, where Rollins hits a big dive, splashing onto him as we see Randy Orton make his way to the top of the ramp.

“The Viper” slowly makes his way down the ramp as the action continues. The announcers remind us that Orton is doing what Rollins just did during his match, as we head to a mid-match commercial.

When we return from commercial, we see the action is continuing back in the ring as Orton watches from ringside now, as he has made his way down the ramp.

In the ring, as the fans in Atlanta chant “we the people,” Swagger goes to work on Rollins. He goes for the Patriot Lock, however Rollins rolls out of it. Moments later, Rollins rolls Swagger up for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After The Match

After the match, Orton gets in the ring and nails Swagger with his finisher, the RKO, the same way Rollins hit his finisher, the Curb Stomp, on Orton’s opponent (Ziggler) earlier tonight. The two go face-to-face before Rollins exits the ring and heads up the ramp. We head to commercial on that note.

Backstage: Renee Young With Dean Ambrose

Backstage, Renee Young is with Dean Ambrose. Ambrose, the crazy man, talks about his issues with John Cena and their issues with Seth Rollins. Ambrose closes by saying they’re all on the “highway to hell,” in AC/DC fashion.

Backstage: Tom Phillips With Big Show

From there, we go to Tom Phillips who is with Big Show. He asks about his issues with Rusev and how he’s in a position to stand up for all of America tonight. Big Show talks about knocking Rusev unconscious. Big Show says he proved Rusev is not unbeatable. He says he’s going to knock him out tonight.

Rusev (with Lana) vs. Big Show

After the backstage segments, Rusev’s theme hits and out he comes with his Russian flag, and his smoking hot valet, Lana. As they make their way to the ring, we head to a commercial break.

When we return from commercial, we see Rusev and Lana in the ring. Lana talks about the same junk she always talks about, only this time with a little twist on it. She talks about Indians and casinos. She ties it into Columbus Day and then takes a cheap dig at the Atlanta Braves to get some cheap heat. It works.

As has been the case for the past week or so, Rusev takes the mic from Lana, babbles in another language as the fans do the tomahawk thing that Braves fans do, along with the chant. He then references Big Show and says his actions will have consequences. The fans in A-T-L chant “U.S.A.,” which stops Rusev dead in his tracks. He hands the mic back to Lana for a quick “Shut-Tup” (again, not a typo). Rusev takes the mic back and says if Big Show has a spine, he’s going to rip it off with his hands.

With that said, finally, (thank god, finally), Big Show’s music hits. The big man storms his way down to the ring and appears to be in a bad mood. The bell rings and Big Show immediately forces Rusev to eat a big boot. Big Show manhandles Rusev outside the ring for a bit and then throws him back into the ring, where he continues to deliver punishment. Big Show continues to dominate Rusev, as the action goes back to the floor. It’s a one-sided match thus far.

In the corner of the ring, Big Show pleases the fans in Atlanta with an Atlanta Braves style “tomahawk” gesture before hitting his “shhh–chop!” spot. The fans popped big for that. Moments later, however, Rusev hits a crazy dropkick to finally get his first bit of offense in this match. He gets in some more offense and knocks Big Show out to the floor as we head to a mid-match commercial.

We’re back from the break and we see Rusev still in firm control of the offense. Within a minute, however, Big Show fires up. Rusev cuts him off and applies “The Accolade.” We see Mark Henry run to rnigside. Eventually, Henry attacks Rusev and Big Show’s is disqualified.

Winner via DQ: Rusev

After The Match

After the match, Big Show and Henry close in on Rusev on opposite sides on the floor. Rusev and Henry trade punches. Rusev gets the better, turns around, but walks right into a KO punch from Big Show. Big Show and Henry leave together as Big Show’s music plays.

Sheamus vs. The Miz (with Damien Sandow)

After a quick Chrisley preview, we see the Chrisley family at ringside. Sheamus makes his way to the ring. During his entrance, we see Tom Phillips interviewing the Chrisley family at ringside. It’s about as pointless and boring as you’d expect. From there, The Miz and Damien Sandow make their way to the ring.

The bell rings and here we go. Sheamus runs at Miz as he tries to take his glasses off. The chase is on now, as Sheamus chases Miz outside the ring on the floor. Back in the ring, Sheamus immediately takes control. The fans try and start a “we want Mizdow” chant, but it doesn’t catch on and dies down within about two seconds.

We keep seeing camera shots of Sandow doing the same thing Miz is doing in the ring, including grounded chinlocks, punches and even selling when Sheamus is beating on The Miz. Sandow is awesome. Really awesome. In the end, Sheamus chases Miz out to the floor, hits Sandow with a Brogue Kick, but gets counted out as Miz slides back into the ring during the ref’s ten count.

Winner: The Miz

Backstage: Divas & NeNe

Backstage, we see a bunch of the Divas knocking on NeNe’s dressing room door. They joke around with her until some other Divas walk up.

Cameron, Nikki Bella and Summer Rae walks up. Cameron and NeNe get face-to-face. They argue a bit and then Cameron and NeNe both do the “girl-bye!” thing as the heel Divas walk away.

Nikki Bella, Cameron & Summer Rae vs. Brie Bella, Naomi & Natalya

When we return from commercial, we see Cameron, Nikki Bella and Summer Rae. Out comes Brie Bella, Natalya and Naomi, accompanied by Rosa Mendes. Justin Roberts introduces NeNe from Real Housewives of whatever.

The bell rings and here we go with six-Diva action. This match goes pretty much exactly like you’d expect from a six-Divas match. Lots of tags, quick spots and when the smoke finally cleared, Brie hits her finisher on Nikki for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Brie Bella, Naomi & Natalya

Backstage: Renee Young With John Cena

Backstage, Renee Young is with John Cena. Cena is fired up as he talks about tonight’s “contract on a pole” match with Dean Ambrose. He calls Ambrose the future star of WWE as he refers to himself as the guy who runs the show. Something like that, but that was the basic point of it all. He hypes up their match, which he informs us, is next.

Bray Wyatt’s Wyatt Family Vignette

Another Wyatt Family vignette airs. This one seems to be focused more on Bray Wyatt than the other members of The Wyatt Family. At the end, Bray says, “it’s coming.” From there, we see an empty rocking chair as the announcers talk about how all three members of The Wyatt Family are now “on the loose.”

Contract On A Pole Match
– John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose

“King of Kings” plays as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon make their way to the ring. We get a shot of the contract on the pole as we’re told by the announcers that our Cena vs. Ambrose main event is up next. On that note, we head to a commercial break.

When we return from the break, we see The Authority seated next to the commentary team at ringside. From there, John Cena makes his way to the ring. Next out is his opponent for tonight’s main event, which has heavy repercussions on the upcoming Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, Dean Ambrose.

As both Cena and Ambrose are in the ring and ready for battle, before the match starts, Seth Rollins’ theme hits. Out comes “Mr. Money In The Bank” as we see Stephanie and Triple H applauding. Before anything else happens, “The Viper” Randy Orton’s theme hits and he makes his way to ringside as well. And before anything else happens, now Kane’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring in a suit. We see Stephanie smiling at ringside.

The bell finally rings and here we go. Cena controls the action early on. As soon as Ambrose sees the opportunity, seconds into the match, he runs up the ropes and tries climbing the pole. Cena back-suplexes him.

The action spills out to the floor. The two head up the ramp. Ambrose lays Cena out and heads back to the ring where he immediately tries going up the pole again. Cena makes it in time and stops him.

Cena locks Ambrose in the STF. Ambrose bites his way out of it as Cena yells like a girl. Ambrose dropkicks Cena off the apron and looks up to the contract again. Instead of going for it, he hits a big dive, splashing onto Cena on the floor.

Out of nowhere, on the floor, Ambrose ends up getting physical with Kane, Orton and Rollins, who are all standing at ringside. Cena nails Ambrose from behind. The Authority guys cheer Cena on now, but Cena throws Ambrose into all three of them and now they’re pissed.

All three Authority guys hit the ring now to involve theirselves in the action as the announcers remind us that it’s a no disqualification match. Cena is dealing with all of the Authority guys while Ambrose takes the opportunity to climb up. By the time Cena finally cleans house, he turns around to see Ambrose’s hands on the contract. Cena runs towards the corner, but Ambrose simply yanks the contract down.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

After The Match

Cena claps as he sees Ambrose has out-smarted him. After the match, Orton stares down Cena. Cena is ready for him so Orton thinks about it for a second and seems to back up. Meanwhile, we see Ambrose and Rollins staring each other down. Ambrose from the ring, with the contract, and Rollins from the top of the ramp. RAW goes off the air on that note.
