UPDATE x 2: ROH posted the following statement on their website, regarding the rumors that Adam Cole has a shoulder injury…

Ring of Honor was recently informed that former World Champion Adam Cole has suffered a shoulder injury.

We do not have official word on the severity of the injury or if this will keep him out of action for any length of time.

Maria Kanellis informed us that we can expect to see The Kingdom together on our next live event, Saturday January 3, 2014 in Nashville, TN.

“Adam, Michael, Matt and myself will grace Nashville with our presence” she said. “Adam will address his injury to the fans there live and not a second sooner”

UPDATE: Adam Cole announced at last night’s PWG event, Black Cole Sun, that he injured his shoulder in his recent match with Jay Briscoe. Cole informed the fans that he will be needing surgery on his injured shoulder.

Cole revealed that he will have to miss the next ROH PPV set for March 1 and some scheduled dates with NJPW. Cole also posted a tweet on the subject, which you can read below.

ORIGINAL: The original plan for ROH Final Battle was for Adam Cole to win the ROH world title back from Jay Briscoe at the event. Instead, Jay Briscoe retained the belt against Cole at the event. There were no title changes during the event and the New York City crowd wasn’t happy about it.

The plans changed because Cole is injured, and he may need to take time off for shoulder surgery. At this time, it is unknown how serious the injury is and if he needs surgery immediately. However, the concern over the injury had management opt to keep the title on Briscoe for now.
