Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns Kick Off RAW

This week’s show opens up with a shot of the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. From there, we see the footage of Seth Rollins crashing “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central.

After that, Rollins, who makes his way to the ring with J&J Security, informs us that Stewart is on his way to the arena right now. He says this isn’t some Jerry Lawler-Andy Kaufman situation.

Rollins says he’s going to prove tonight that he can do Stewart’s job better than him. As he continues to talk, he is interrupted by Roman Reigns’ theme song. Reigns makes his way to the ring through the crowd.

Reigns tells Rollins to continue, he says he only came out here to hear everyone tell Rollins that he sucks in person. He asks Rollins to continue.

Rollins says what he was about to say before he was so rudely interrupted, is that he is worth more than Michael Jordan. He says he can out-work everybody. He says he can out-work Jon Stewart and even out-rap Wiz Khalifa. He tells Reigns not to let his abs fool him, he can even out-eat Mark Henry. He says since Reigns is out here, he’ll add one more to the list — he can out-wrestle Roman Reigns. He holds up his Money In The Bank briefcase and says he, not Reigns, is going to be the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Reigns laughs, and says Rollins had a chance to beat Lesnar and failed. He asks if Rollins is going to cash in his MITB briefcase and beat he and Lesnar both in a triple-threat match. Rollins says he could do that, or he could wait until Reigns and Lesnar tears themselves apart and then beat whoever wins to become champion. He says he could also cash in on RAW, or even later when no one expects it.

Reigns pushes Rollins’ mic down and says he could punch Rollins in the face right now. Reigns punches Rollins and then takes out J&J Security. All three run away as Reigns’ music plays. We head to commercial.

Dean Ambrose vs. Bad News Barrett

Before we head to our first commercial break of the evening, we see Dean Ambrose backstage heading to the ring with the WWE Intercontinental Championship, as the announcers inform us that after the break, Ambrose will meet the real I-C champion in one-on-one action.

When we return from the break, Dean Ambrose, with the I-C title in hand, makes his way to the ring. Already in the rnig, as mentioned before, is his opponent for tonight — Bad News Barrett. The bell rings and here we go with our first match of the evening.

On commentary for this one is R-Truth. Truth is in full cheesey-comedy mode, by the way. Ambrose controls the action early on, however Barrett quickly turns the tables. As Barrett gains control of the offense, we head to a mid-match commercial break.

We’re back from the commercial and we see the action continuing in the ring. Meanwhile, Luke Harper has made his way to the announce table. It’s worth pointing out that the announcers have confirmed during this match that at WrestleMania 31, there will be a multi-person ladder match for the I-C title.

Speaking of the I-C title, Truth, who once again stole the title as the action was going on inside the ring, surrendered the belt to Harper. Harper leaves. Meanwhile, Ambrose picks up the win and after the match, confronts Truth, looking for the title belt. Truth tells him that he doesn’t have it.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Backstage: The Miz, Damien Mizdow & More

Backstage, we see The Miz, Damien Mizdow, the Rosebuds, Cameron and a bunch of other low-level talent. Miz brags, in typical Miz-fashion. They introduce his latest acting work, which turns out to be an erectial dysfunction commercial parody instead of viagra, called “niagra.”

After the video plays, Miz is embarassed/pissed. He blames it on Mizdow and bitch-slaps him. Mizdow gets in his face. Miz says he’s the reason Mizdow is here and if it weren’t for him, Mizdow would be fired again. Mizdow restrains himself and apologizes. We head to another break.

Bray Wyatt’s Latest Promo On The Undertaker

As we return from the commercial break, Bray Wyatt’s theme hits. Out he comes with a casket. He tells Undertaker to “come out, come out, wherever he is.” He tells Undertaker that he built this casket just for him.

Wyatt says Taker is taunting him with all of this silence. He warns Taker that everything comes with a price, and then pulls out a can of gasoline. He says he’s always had a fascination with fire.

With that said, he pours gasoline all over the casket and then sets it on fire, saying he would walk through the fires of hell just to see The Undertaker. He warns Taker that he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. He says at WrestleMania, “The Dead Man” will burn, too. After this segment, we head to yet another commercial break.

Tyson Kidd, Cesaro & Natalya vs. The Usos & Naomi

When we return from commercial, the WWE Tag-Team Champions Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, along with WWE Diva Natalya, make their way to the ring. Out next are The Usos, who come out with Naomi for this six-person tag-match.

The bell rings and here we go. Kidd and Jey start things off for their respective teams. Kidd establishes control and tags in Cesaro.

Cesaro rolls to the floor and avoids the Rikishi splash. Naomi tags in so Natalya comes in. Naomi kicks her in the head for a near fall. They trade holds and Naomi hits another kick. Natalya goes down on her leg and Naomi rolls her up for a two count.

Natalya knocks Naomi out of the ring with a kick and then tags in Kidd. Jimmy comes in and goes to work on him. Kidd ducks a kick attempt and blasts him with one of his own. Kid runs into an uppercut and Uso decks Cesaro. Uso comes off the top and tags in Jey. Kidd tags in Natalya.

Nattie argues with Kidd for tagging her in when she is hurt. This leads to Naomi rolling her up and scoring the 1-2-3. The babyfaces win. After the match, Nattie and Kidd argue but appear to make up. After the match, we head to another commercial.

Winners: The Usos & Naomi

In-Ring Segment: John Cena, Stephanie McMahon & Curtis Axel

Back from the break, and out comes John Cena. Cena talks about wanting to hand Rusev his first defeat and become the WWE United States Champion and WrestleMania 31.

Cena says if Rusev doesn’t accept the match and it’s not meant to be, he’ll adapt and overcome, because that’s what he does. He says, however, that Rusev is a marked man and eventually he’ll get his hands on him.

Cena goes on to enter himself into the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31, however Stephanie McMahon comes out.

Steph asks Cena when Superstars started making their own matches. She says it sounds like Cena is disrespecting Andre. A picture is shown of a young, eight-year-old Steph with Andre. Cena says even then he can tell Steph was a “bitch.”

To make a long story short, Steph says Cena isn’t in the battle royal match and Curtis Axel comes out. Axel does his comedy routine, Axel-Mania, which leads to an impromptu match made by Steph.

John Cena vs. Curtis Axel

We head to a commercial break right before this match officially begins.

When we return from the break, Axel leads the fans, who seem to be into Axel tonight in Newark, in a big “Axel-Mania” chant.

Cena and Axel stare each other down and then Cena knocks him down with a clothesline. The fans boo. Cena blasts away at Aexl with punches until Axel starts “hulking up,” ala Hulk Hogan. Cena simply stares at him like he’s crazy.

Cena clotheslines Axel down. Cena knocks Axel down with a few punches. The fans chant “Axel-Mania” and “Cena sucks.” Axel points to the WrestleMania 31 sign hanging in the rafters, but Cena just runs over him. Cena hits him with the Attitude Adjustment and locks him in the STF, leading to Cena picking up the victory.

Winner: John Cena

After The Match: Rusev & Cena

After the match, Rusev’s theme hits and out he comes with Lana. Lana gives Cena a quick “congrats” and then Rusev speaks. Rusev says that the only way Cena gets the match he wants at WrestleMania 31 is if he agrees. Rusev says his answer remains “no.”

The giant Russian flag then drops down in the ring, where Cena is standing. We head to another commercial break.

Triple H & Booker T Segment

Back from the break and we see Triple H making his way to the ring. “The Game” talks about how 20 years ago, he simply asked Vince McMahon for an opportunity. He talks about his success over the years and says he feels he made the most out of that opportunity.

He says at the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view, he offered Sting an “opportunity” to have his career last forever. Triple H promised to make Sting to be bigger than he ever has been but Sting squandered that opportunity away for one chance to have a WrestleMania moment. Triple H promises he will make sure it’s as if Sting’s career never existed. He says a lot of people wonder why Sting never came to WWE. Triple H says everyone has theories, including JBL and Booker T.

With that said, HHH calls Booker T in the ring. To make a long story short, HHH fires Booker T. To make an even longer story shorter, he ends up re-hiring him. We head to another commercial break.

WWE Divas Championship
Paige vs. Nikki Bella (c)

When we return from the break, former WWE Divas Champion Paige makes her way to the ring. Out next are The Bella Twins. It’s announced that current WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella is putting her title on the line in this one.

The bell sounds and here we go. Immediately, Paige gains control of the offense. Paige dominates Bella, knocking her out of the ring. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial.

We’re back from the break and we see Nikki with her knee in Paige’s back, stretching her arms. Paige breaks free. The finish then sees Brie interfering, which gives Paige the win via disqualification.

The Daily Show With Seth Rollins & Jon Stewart

Back live inside the Prudential Center, we see a “Daily Show” set up with Seth Rollins and J&J Security. Rollins mocks Stewart for a while until finally “The Daily Show” theme hits and out he comes.

Stewart cuts a long promo, talking about Rollins, saying that he took a short cuit by becoming the “poster boy” of The Authority, but points out that even as such, he isn’t even fighting for the title at WrestleMania. Stewart actually did an amazing job here, proving he’s a legitimate pro wrestling fan.

To make a long story short, Rollins and J&J Security, who have finally heard enough, try and confront Stewart. Eventually, however, Randy Orton’s theme song hits. This allows Stewart to hit Rollins with a low-blow and get out of dodge. We head to another commercial.

Backstage: Renee Young With Jon Stewart

Backstage, Renee Young catches up with Jon Stewart. Stewart, still in full-on comedy mode, is afraid of facing repercussions from Rollins and/or J&J Security, so he quickly makes an excuse and gets the hell out of there.

Paul Heyman Promotes WrestleMania 31

Paul Heyman, by himself, makes his way to the ring. He talks in-depth about WrestleMania 31 and “his client’s” match against Roman Reigns. Unfortunately for him, his mic keeps cutting out. It seems to be legit, as finally he gets a new mic and his promo goes on without a problem.

Heyman talks about the history of some of the legendary champions of WWE’s time, and then talks about Reigns’ realistic chances of beating Lesnar, odds he says Reigns doesn’t have much of a chance of pulling off.

Now it seems like the mic issue is a problem, as Heyman plays into it again by tapping on the mic over and over again. He continues talking into the same mic without switching mics though, so maybe he’s working overtime to make it seem like part of the angle.

Heyman continues, promising Reigns that he will be conquered by Lesnar at WrestleMania. He tells Reigns to “believe that.”

Before Heyman can leave, Reigns’ theme hits and out he comes, making his way to the ring through the crowd.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

Reigns makes his way to the ring as I said, however as the announces point out, it’s for tonight’s RAW main event against Seth Rollins. Heyman retreats to the back as we head to a commercial. Tonight’s main event is up next.

Rollins comes in and Reigns catches a kick. Reigns drops Rollins with aright hand. Reigns whips Rollins hard into the corners. Reigns goes to work on Rollins now, keeping him down on the mat. Rollins finally blocks a shot and fights back. Reigns runs the rope but Rollins nails a dropkick. Rollins mounts Reigns with right hands now.

Reigns starts to battle away, however Rollins tosses hi to the floor. Reigns distracts the referee while The Stooges attack Reigns but he drops the. Rollins comes over and gets decked. Reigns nails one of the Stooges. Reigns comes back in and Big Show calls for “The Viper” to come out. Orton’s music hits and out he comes. We head to commercial.

We return from commercial. J&J Security try to get involved, but they easily get dealt with. Meanwhile, Orton is looking on multiple times on-camera. Finally, he grabs Reigns foot, causing a distraction and allowing Rollins to roll Reigns up for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After The Match: The Action Continues

Following the match, Orton walks past The Authority guys. They all look at him, wanting to celebrate, but he seems to be ignoring them. Big Show asks Orton where he’s going, when out of nowhere, Reigns is back to life and starts taking out The Authority members. This week’s show goes off the air with Reigns looking like a total bad ass.
