Steve Austin Responds To Roddy Piper’s Podcast Claims

UPDATE: As we previously reported, Roddy Piper accused Steve Austin of getting his Piper’s Pit podcast removed from Podcast One after an interview with Will Sasso mocking Austin. In Steve Austin’s latest Steve Austin Show podcast, he denied Piper’s claims.

Austin said Piper’s timeline was wrong. The podcast with Sasso was recorded three to five months ago (although more likely three since it talked about Wrestlemania 31). He added that he’s fifty years old and has no time for “soap opera stuff”. He had nothing to do with Piper being removed and even contacted the PodcastOne president, who said Piper requested a meeting and didn’t want to be on the site anymore. Austin said to Piper wanted to leave and shouldn’t blame him. He also revealed that he’s under the impression that Piper can go back if he wants and there’s no hard feelings. He concluded by saying he had nothing to do with Piper’s removal, “end of story”.

ORIGINAL: Roddy Piper’s Piper’s Pit is no longer on Podcast One and according to the Hall of Famer, it was because of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Piper said in his latest episode, titled “Stone Cold” and available on SoundCloud and other platforms, that a satirical segment involving Will Sasso got that segment’s episode removed from the platform.

According to Piper, Sasso impersonated Steve Austin and Piper asked “Austin” why he no-showed WrestleMania 31 as well as why he quit so many times. Piper says that although it was clearly satirical, Austin wasn’t happy with it and the episode was removed after six hours. Piper added that Podcast One threatened to fire him, so he moved on from them.
