TNA’s Lawsuit Against Scott Steiner Headed To Trial

TNA’s lawsuit against Scott Steiner, which they filed in June of 2012, will finally go to trial on February 11, 2016 in Nashville, TN. TNA sued him because they claim he breached his contract (which had expired by the time they sued) by insulting the company, Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Bruce Prichard and others. They are seeking damages and an injuction to stop Steiner from making comments.

Steiner has denied agreeing to not take shots at the company. He also denied that speaking out would breach his contract and denied that he was involved in a “concerted effort to disparage” TNA and it’s officials. He’s also denying that he is in a “legal and binding agreement” with TNA, that he ignored requests to stop and that TNA has suffered damages due to what he said. He said his TNA deal expired and when he was offered a new contract, he turned it down and the deal never happened.

The lawsuit was set to go to trial a number of times, including this past June. It was either pushed back or cancelled as both parties worked on a settlement, which fell through. Nearly everyone Steiner took shots at are no longer working for TNA and haven’t in a long time.
