Seth Rollins, Sting, Sheamus Kick Off RAW

This week’s show kicks off with WWE World Heavyweight and WWE United States Champion Seth Rollins coming out to the ring. As seems to be the case lately, Rollins is given a lot of time to not really say a whole lot, as he’s basically just complaining about having to wrestle two matches at WWE Night Of Champions.

He says he was worried but then he remembered he’s Seth Rollins. He says he’s Seth “Friggin” Rollins and Night Of Champions is going to be his night. He says he’s got two future Hall Of Famers vying for both of his titles, but he is going to own them both, just like he owns all of us. He says if it’s the last thing he does, he’s going to get his statue back.

As he continues to talk, Sting’s crow sound hits and we see him backstage dusting Rollins’ statue and mocking him, telling him he’s taking good care of it and daring him to come get it.

After that, out of nowhere, Sheamus’ music hits and out he comes. He talks about how even if Rollins wins both of his matches somehow at Night Of Champions, he might have to wrestle a third match — against Mr. Money In The Bank, Sheamus. On that note, we head to our first commercial break of the evening.

Backstage: Seth Rollins & The Authority

Backstage, Seth Rollins approaches Stephanie McMahon, complaining about his statue and his two matches at Night Of Champions. He asks her where Triple H is. She says she has a plan. He still wants HHH. Finally, he sees HHH behind him and ultimately, HHH’s plan is to book Rollins in two matches tonight to prepare him for his two Night Of Champions matches. It will be champion vs. champion as Rollins takes on I-C champ Ryback in one match tonight on RAW, while Rollins will team with The New Day to take on The Prime Time Players and John Cena in the other match tonight.

Paige vs. Sasha Banks

We return to the ring and it’s time for Divas action as the “Divas Revolution” continues on RAW. It will be Paige representing Team P.C.B. and Sasha Banks representing Team B.A.D.

Early on, Paige controls the action. She hits a couple of moves and plays to the crowd a bit as the announcers put over the Divas Revolution and the upcoming title match at Night Of Champions. We head to a mid-match break.

When we return from commercial we see the action still going on inside the ring. Banks is controlling the offense with ease at this point, and is taunting Team P.C.B., as well as the fans. Finally, after Naomi and Tamina cause a distraction, Banks manages to sneak in a pin on Paige for the victory. After the match we head to another commercial break.

Winner: Sasha Banks

The Ascension vs. Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose

Konnor of The Ascension kicks things off for his team while Ambrose starts off for his team. Ambrose establishes control of the action and then tags in Reigns. Konnor tags in Viktor and Reigns starts taking it to him now.

After some brief action on the floor, including a Drive By spot from Reigns, the action resumes in the ring where Reigns hits a spear and Ambrose hits a big move off the top rope for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose

After The Match: The Wyatt Family

After the match, The Wyatt Family appears on the big screen. First, Braun Strowman talks about how it’s okay to be afraid. Bray Wyatt talks about how their fate will be set at Night Of Champions. Erick Rowan simply finishes by saying, “Run!” We head back to another commercial break.

Backstage: Renee Young

Backstage, Renee Young catches up with the I-C champ Ryback. Young asks him about his upcoming champion vs. champion match against WWE World Heavyweight Champion and WWE United States Champion. Ryback says Rollins is good but “The Big Guy” has some plans of his own. He does his catchphrases and is then interrupted by Kevin Owens. Owens comes in eating an apple, punks Ryback out and then walks off.

Ryback vs. Seth Rollins

I-C champ Ryback makes his way to the ring for his champion vs. champion match against Seth Rollins. During his ring entrance, we head to a commercial break.

We return from the break and Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. The bell sounds and here we go. Early on, Ryback establishes his power advantage. Rollins bails to the floor several times to avoid him.

Finally, we settle into the action and it is Ryback who is dominating the offense, throwing Rollins around like a ragdoll. We head to the floor where Rollins slams Ryback into the ring post and then the steel steps. We head to a mid-match commercial.

As we near the finishing sequence of moves from both guys, finally, Sting’s crow sound hits and we see “The Icon” on the titan tron. Sting asks Rollins why he’s not coming after him, as he and the statue are right here. While distracted, Ryback rolls Rollins up for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Rollins flips out. Sting appears on the titan tron again and now he puts a Sting mask on the Seth Rollins statue. We head back to another commercial break.

Winner: Ryback

Backstage: Everyone

A big backstage segment takes place involving Seth Rollins, The New Day, Edge and Christian and The Dudley Boyz. Xavier Woods plays a trombone, Christian plays a kazoo.

Summer Rae’s Explanation

Summer Rae comes to the ring to talk about the drama between herself, Dolph Ziggler and Lana. She says Ziggler has been trying to seduce her for weeks.

She says she kissed him and she regrets it. She starts crying and says she’ll never forgive herself. Rusev says she did betray him but he forgives her.

He continues to talk, mostly trash about Lana faking her wrist injury and really suffering from a broken heart, until finally Ziggler comes out. Ziggler listens while he continues to talk and then super kicks him. Rusev and Summer retreat. We head to a commercial break.

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

Randy Orton’s music hits when he return from the break. “The Viper” makes his way to the ring. Out to the ring next is his opponent for this evening, “Mr. Money In The Bank,” Sheamus. The bell sounds and here we go.

Early on, Sheamus gets frustrated with his inability to establish control over “The Viper,” as Orton continues to thwart all of Sheamus’ offensive attempts. The action spills out to the floor where Orton sends Sheamus into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Orton unloads on Sheamus in one of the corners. Back out on the floor, Sheamus turns the tide. He hits the Irish Curse backbreaker and heads back into the ring as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

We return from the break to see Sheamus still in control but Orton finally starting to show signs of life. The two exchange some back-and-forth action until finally we near the finishing sequence. Out of nowhere, Randy Orton hits the RKO on “Mr. Money in the Bank” for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Randy Orton

After The Match: The Wyatt Family Attacks

After the match, The Wyatt Family hits the ring and attacks Randy Orton. They all corner him and then feed him to Braun Strowman, who manhandles him the same way he did Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose when he first debuted.

The Dudley Boyz vs. Los Matadores

We head back to the ring for our next match here on RAW, which will be in the tag-team division. First out are Bubba Ray and Devon — The Dudley Boyz. Out next are their opponents, Los Matadores, who come to the ring accompanied by El Torito.

This one didn’t last long, as there was trouble in paradise amongst Los Matadores and El Torito, and them distracting themselves led to Diego turning around into a 3-D for the 1-2-3.

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

After The Match: Fernando Snaps, As Does A Table

After the match, Fernando, upset at the loss, kicks El Torito out of the ring. He goes out to the floor to beat him up some more, but ultimately The Dudley Boyz return and put Fernando through a table.

Cesaro vs. The Miz

And we head back to the ring for another singles contest, as The Miz makes his way down to the ring. Out next to the sirens is “The King of Swing” himself, Cesaro. The bell sounds and here we go.

Cesaro takes it to Miz right away by blasting him with big uppercuts in the corner. Out on the floor, Cesaro puts on JBL’s cowboy hat and continues leveling Miz with big uppercuts.

Back in the ring, Cesaro gets knocked off the ring apron and is selling a rib injury on the floor. Miz comes out and slams him into the barricade ribs-first. Big Show then comes out and chases Miz through the crowd. Cesaro ends up winning via count out. After the match, Big Show hits the KO punch on Cesaro and the fans boo. We head back to commercial.

Winner via Count Out: Cesaro

Divas Revolution Promo Segment

Out comes Team Bella, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Alicia Fox. They come to the ring and Nikki gets on the mic. She brags about how she’s only days away from breaking AJ Lee’s record as the longest reigning WWE Divas Champion in history.

As she continues to talk, out comes Team P.C.B. — Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch — to interrupt her.

Charlotte reveals that she has been granted a title shot at Nikki Bella on RAW next week. She locks her in the Figure-8 and makes her tap out. We head to commercial.

John Cena & The Prime Time Players vs. Seth Rollins & The New Day

Out comes John Cena, Titus O’Neil and Darren Young, the three members of the babyface team in this six-man tag-team RAW main event. Out next are their opponents, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and WWE United States Champion Seth Rollins, along with his tag-team partners, the WWE Tag-Team Champions, The New Day — Big E., Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, with Big E. and Kingston representing The New Day trio in this one.

While Cena and Rollins kick things off for their respective teams, Rollins quickly thinks twice about the decision and immediately tags out. Big E. accepts the tag and it looks like he and Cena will start off this main event contest.

Cena gets in some offense on Big E. early on, but it isn’t long before distractions and the numbers game becomes too big of an obstacle for Cena to overcome. We find ourselves with The New Day and Rollins comfortably in control of the action as we head to a mid-match commercial break.

When we return from the break, we see the action continuing in the ring. Young is being worked over but when Big E. makes a mistake, Rollins tags in, however Cena manages to tag in as well.

Cena immediately goes to work on Rollins and he slaps the STF on him. Rollins manages to crawl to his team’s corner. He tags in Kofi Kingston. Cena immediately hoists Kingston up and hits the Attitude Adjustment. 1-2-3. Cena and the Prime Time Players win.

Winners: John Cena & The Prime Time Players

After The Match: More From Sting

After the match, Cena does the “millions of dollars” celebration with the Prime Time Players. Then, as a disappointed Rollins rolls into the ring. Sting pops up on the titan tron. He asks why Rollins never came to get “this.” He shows the Seth Rollins statue and then a trash truck next to it. He turns the trash truck on and pushes over the statue, effectively crushing and ruining it as Rollins freaks out while he watches on from the big screen from inside the ring. The trash truck drives off with the statue and Sting mocks and taunts Rollins.
