Kane Kicks Off RAW — And He’s Running The Show Tonight

This week’s show opens up with Kane backstage. He’s on the phone with The Authority. Triple H tells him that he and Stepanie are running late and that he is in charge until they get there. Kane is happy. He grabs a nearby staffer and tells him to find Seth Rollins and inform him that he has a match tonight. It will be Seth Rollins in a LumberJack Match tonight on RAW — against Kane!

With thatn said, the regular RAW video intro plays and then we head into the ring in Chicago, the site of tonight’s show.

Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, The New Day & Kane

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring. He cuts a quick babyface promo when out next comes Randcy Orton. Orton sucks up to the Chicago fans a bit and then he tells him that he’s going to have a partner at Hell In A Cell — it will be Ambrose and The Viper taking on The Wyatt Family.

Ambrose and Orton can’t seem to get on the same page and just when it seems they’re going to lose their patience with each other and go after each other, The New Day’s music hits and out they come doing their usual routine.

The New Day members taking turns telling the story of how The New Day became the biggest force in WWE today all in one night by taking out The Dudley Boyz and John Cena.

Finally, just when it seems Ambrose and Orton are about to lose their cool with The New Day, Kane pops up and makes a match — which will take place right now.

Dean Ambrose & Randy Orton vs. The New Day

With everyone already out there, Xavier Woods simply drops down to the floor and starts playing the trombone as a refereee hits the ring and officially starts the match. Ambrose and Orton jump out to a quick offensive lead and we immediately go to a mid-match commercial break. The action continued through a second commercial break, until finally Orton is thrown into Ambrose, knocking Ambrose out to the floor and resulting in Orton being pinned.

Winners: The New Day

Nikki Bella vs. Naomi

After a quick backstage segment where we see Kane waiting on The Authority to call him back, we head back to the ring for our second match of RAW this evening. The “Divas Revolution” continues in WWE as Nikki Bella takes on Team B.A.D.’s Naomi. The finish in this one saw Twin Magic almost go wrong for Nikki Bella, as Brie was being stopped, however Nikki used the distraction to hit her Rack Attack finisher for the victory.

Winner: Nikki Bella

The New Paige

We see footage of Byron Saxton talking to fans about Paige’s new attitude and then afterwards, he talks live with Paige herself. Paige spoke about how the fans haven’t given her any credit for the ongoing “Divas Revlution” in WWE. She pulls out a Payday candy bar and has a line about how victorty never tasting so sweet.

U.S. Open Challenge
– John Cena (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

John Cena makes his way out to the ring. He puts over Chicago for a bit and then announces a U.S. Open Challenge. With that said, Dolph Ziggler comes out and the two battle for quite a while until finally Cena finishes Ziggler off with an Attitude Adjustment.

Winner and STILL U.S. Champion: John Cena

Dudley Boyz vs. The Ascension

Tag-team action is up next on RAW, as The Dudley Boyz and The Ascension battle it out. The match began when The Ascension sneak-attacked The Dudleyz early. In the end, however, a 3-D gave Bubba Ray and Devon the “W” on RAW.

Winners: The Dudley Boyz

Sheamus & King Barrett vs. Neville & Cesaro

We come back from a commercial break and we see both teams in the ring and ready to go. Early on the team of Cesaro and Neville was in the lead in the match, however when all was said and done, Barrett hit a big Bull Hammer Elbow on Neville, which set him up to be pinned by Sheamus.

Winners: Sheamus & King Barrett

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman

Back inside the arena, Roman Reigns’ music hits and out he comes through the crowd as usual. He says the issue between he and Wyatt stems from the WWE World title. He mentions Wyatt costing him a couple opportunities in the past and vows to rip Wyatt apart at the Hell In A Cell event. Eventually, Wyatt came out and in typical Bray Wyatt fashion, he makes his own points. Ultimately, Wyatt’s music hit again as he sent Braun Strowman to the ring to the store.

After they finished the non-verbal side of things, it came time to get down to business between Reigns and Strowman. The match started off identisal to any other Strowman match, where he’s the “immovable object” that his opponent has to try and somehow move. The finish saw Reigns win via count out after hitting Strowman and Luke Harper with Superman punches on the floor.

Winner via Count Out: Roman Reigns

Backstage: The Authority Is Almost Here …

Backstage on RAW and we see Kane on the phone with The Authority again.

Ryback vs. Rusev

Once again, WWE books the “big guy” match whenever they can for quick buzz, or those awful times when you’re short on ideas. I only really gotta make it through tomorrow and I’m paid again, as long as new PayPal.

After giving the two a couple of minutes, we work our way to the finishing sequence. After knocking him out with his other elbow, he proceeded to pick up the pinfall after hitting your oppoent with your own finishing move.

Winner: Rusev

Summer Rae Turns On Rusev

After the match, Rusev heads to the back when in walks Summer Rae. Summer brings up finding out about he and Lana getting engaged over the weekend via the internet. She goes off on him, calling him a no-good such and such before slapping him to the delight of the Chicago audience and walking off. As she left, Rusev finally started trying to yell back but the damage was done.

Kalisto vs. Kevin Owens

We head back to the ring for somewhat of an odd pairing for a singles match this late into RAW, as Kalisto will take on Kevin Owens, but Owens’ I-C title isn’t up for grabs. In the end it didn’t matter, as a Pop-Up Powerbob from Owens helped him score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kevin Owens

Charlotte & Becky Lynch vs. Brie Bella & Alicia Fox

It looks like the WWE Divas are getting a second swing at the plate tonight, as Charlotte and Becky Lynch team up to take on the duo of Brie Bella and Alicia Fox because of what happened earlier tonight in the other Divas match earlier in the show. Also out for this one was Paige, on commentary and Natalya. The two got into it at the end, which allowed Brie and Fox to get the “W.”

Winners: Brie Bella & Alicia Fox

Backstage: The Authority Finally Finds Out What’s Going On

Finally, backstage we see Kane on the phone with The Authority again. They finally have reception and are aware of what’s going on. Triple H tells Kane he shouldn’t have put himself in a main event LumberJack Match against the WWE Champion Seth Rollins. He tells Kane he’s not happy and that it’d be smart not to go out for the main event at all. He tells Kane not to screw this up.

Kane ended up coming out as The Demon Kane for the LumberJack RAW main event against Rollins. The match saw some 20 lumberjacks getting involved and eventually taken out, as nothing can stop “The Demon Kane” in specific from getting his hands on Rollins.

The New Day and the other heel lumberjacks eventually ganged up on Demon Kane until he made a comeback, with the help of some of the babyface lumberjacks. Ultimately, The Demon Kane picked up the win and left Rollins laid out in the ring, so The Authority is not going to be happy. That is how RAW went off the air this week.

Winner: Kane
