May 2, 2016
St. Louis, Missouri
Report by: Mike Tedesco of Wrestleview.com

“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video recaps the events of last night’s WWE Payback event. Vince McMahon decided that Shane and Stephanie McMahon would both have equal power over Monday Night RAW. During the main event, they each made changes to the match by making it no count-out and disqualification. Even with interference from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Roman Reigns defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Shane and Stephanie then made the rematch for Extreme Rules.

The RAW video plays, and we’re brought into the arena to see a big pyrotechnics display.

Stephanie and Shane McMahon Segment

Stephanie McMahon’s music hits, and she makes her way to the ring holding a red gift bag. She is one-half of the power of Monday Night RAW, which is exactly how it’s announced by Eden Stiles and not Lilian Garcia tonight. She greets St. Louis before going to say, “Welcome to Monday Night RAW,” but she’s immediately interrupted by Shane McMahon. Shane makes his way to a great reception. Shane and Stephanie run over each other with their lines as a “Shane O’Mac” chant breaks out. Shane then greets St. Louis before welcoming them to Monday Night RAW. Stephanie says in the seven years that he’s been gone when he quit on the people, she learned how to get a lot accomplished in business. She can be a great business partner. Like it or not their father made them both in charge of RAW. As a result, she has a peace offering to show that she wholeheartedly embraces this partnership. She hands him the gift bag. Shane brings out of the bag the picture of Vince and Shane McMahon that Vince smashed weeks ago in the lead-up to WrestleMania. Stephanie says she knows how it hurt him when Vince destroyed the picture.

Stephanie says she wants to hear what Shane has planned for RAW. Shane says he’s moved by the gift, so he wants to hear her plans first. She then gets the crowd to want to hear Shane’s plans. Shane goes to start speaking, but Kevin Owens interrupts him! Owens says this is a lovely sight to see them both in the same ring on RAW. Owens mockingly says it’s nice to see them getting along. Owens says he has an idea for them, and he’s going to tell them whether they want to hear it or not. Owens says the first decision to be made tonight should be to give him an Intercontinental Championship match that he rightfully deserves. Last night at Payback, he decimated Sami Zayn and proved that he’s better than him. Now that it’s done and over with, it’s time to refocus. Owens says he wants an Intercontinental Championship match tonight. Owens say with the way Shane has been running RAW these last few weeks he has no faith in him doing the right thing. Stephanie is a smart businesswoman and knows the right moves. Besides, it’s in his contract that he’s owed a title match and has yet to receive it. Shane and Stephanie agree that it’s a valid point.

Cesaro’s music hits, and he comes out with his James Bond entrance. Cesaro says last night at Payback, he had Miz beat in the middle of the ring. Cesaro had the Intercontinental Champion tap out. Unfortunately for him and everyone in the Cesaro Section, the resident whiner and complainer stuck his nose where it didn’t belong. Owens says that he’s right that Sami Zayn did that, but that’s obviously not who Cesaro was talking about. Cesaro says this is very much about him because if it wasn’t for Owens, he’d be standing here as the Intercontinental Champion. Shane says he doesn’t know how things were done in the old era, but in the new era business is settled in the ring. Owens and Cesaro will face each other to see who will be the #1 Contender to the Intercontinental Championship. This match is next.

Reigns says he has a lot of respect for Styles after last night, but he has no respect for Anderson and Gallows. Their interference proves that they don’t think Styles can beat the guy on his own. Reigns then asks if the three of them can beat his three, and The Usos walk in. Styles says at Extreme Rules, he’ll beat him and take his title all on his own. -Commercial Break-

The New Day Segment

“AW ST. LOUIS! DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLAP FOR YOUR WORLD FAMOUS TWO-TIME CHAMPS AND FEEL THE POWER!”

The New Day makes their way to the ring to a huge reception. The New Day will put the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against The Vaudevillains at Extreme Rules later this month. Kofi Kingston says, “St. Louie ain’t booty.” For some serious news, the WWE #1 Contender’s Tag Team Tournament, sponsored by Booty O’s, came to an abrupt and premature end when Enzo Amore suffered a concussion at Payback. A slow motion video is shown of the scary moment at last night’s show. Big E says that was U-G-L-Y, but he did have an alibi. They have a tweet that will put a smile on the faces of everyone and their woes. Xavier Woods says if his phone wasn’t dead, he’d show all the nasty tweets he got from Beyoncé. Kingston and Big E say that never happened. However, they have this: a tweet of Enzo Amore being discharged from the hospital. A loud, “How you doin’” chant breaks out. They say he will be ok soon. In the meantime, they sent him a box of Booty O’s and a dash of unicorn magic. When Amore is ready to come back, they’ll give him an opportunity. However, they’re going to keep the positivity train going.

The Vaudevillains interrupt to no reaction. Aiden English says what happened last night was just tragic. This is a tough business and tough things happen. A real man would have got back up. Real men like them that represent the skills and values of a bygone era. These real men are #1 Contenders to those WWE World Tag Team Championships (he sang that portion of it). Simon Gotch says they made Enzo Amore the realest guy in the emergency room. Gotch asks just how Amore is really doing. They have left zero doubt…

The Dudley Boyz interrupt him. Bubba Ray Dudley asks what they are talking about. They didn’t beat anyone last night. The referee had to stop the match. All they did was stand there and twirl their mustaches like the Monopoly man. As far as they’re concerned, the tournament needs to restart. D-Von says if anyone deserves the opportunity, it’s them. They are the baddest tag team on the planet. What the hell have they ever accomplished?

Colin Cassady makes his way to the ring to a big reception. Colin calls The Vaudevillains “Simon and Garfunkel.” They need to tell Mrs. Robinson they’re going to be late for dinner. He’s been listening to them run their mouths about taking out Enzo. Enzo is his family. They messed with his family, so he’ll have to finish what they started last night. As for the Dudleys, they already knocked them out of the tournament. There is only one word to describe them, and he’ll spell it out for them: S-A-W-F-T! Cassady goes right for the Vaudevillains, and a brawl breaks out.

Stephanie McMahon will be on The Ambrose Asylum, next.

-Commercial Break-

They air another video of Primo and Epico putting over Puerto Rico.

The Ambrose Asylum

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring to a nice reception. Ambrose welcomes the crowd to The Ambrose Asylum and introduces his fake plant, Mitch. Ambrose then introduces Stephanie McMahon. She makes her way to the ring and says she’s honored to be here. Stephanie comments on the sparse set. Ambrose says this whole Stephanie McMahon being nice thing she has going on isn’t the Stephanie McMahon she knows. After what happened at Payback last night, she’s got to be boiling. Stephanie says he is paranoid and says Payback was the first PPV of the new era. She’s just happy about that. Ambrose says she had a spectacular WrestleMania moment, and shows a clip of Roman Reigns spearing her. Ambrose says Reigns speared her out of her Tina Turner boots. Stephanie says she got into the ring where she didn’t belong, and Reigns taught her a very valuable lesson. Ambrose says learning lessons can hurt.

Speaking of things that just have to hurt, after seven years away, her brother Shane returns to a hero’s welcome. Everyone loves Shane. A Shane O’Mac chant breaks out. Ambrose says that might bother her, but to make matters worse, a week later he’s running RAW better than The Authority ever did. She doesn’t agree with the second half of his statement. Regardless of the reason why he abandoned the WWE Universe seven years ago, they love him and showed loyalty. Loyalty means everything to her. Without the loyalty of the WWE Universe, where would the company be? Ambrose says she’s never left and mentions all the time and sacrifices she’s made. Because of her loyalty to her dad, WWE, and the business, how many school dances and recitals has she missed? She’s flown all over the world and sat in many meetings. Ambrose asks if she thinks Shane has made those kinds of sacrifices. It would burn him up if that happened to him after making all those sacrifices. Stephanie looks like she’s degenerating into anger. She then says her father taught her a lesson last night by saying things need to change. That’s why they both have control. She says she’s going to apply that to Ambrose. The Ambrose Asylum has been going for four weeks, so it’s time for a change. Stephanie says she’s officially canceling it. Ambrose looks angry. Ambrose says he thought he was going to be the next Jimmy Fallon or Jimmy Kimmel, but they had a good run. Hosting a talk show was pretty hard, so she can keep all the stuff. Charlotte and Natalya Segment

Charlotte makes her way to the ring with her father, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Charlotte tells Flair to give the crowd a “WOO,” and he obliges. Last night at Payback, Nattie and her Uncle Bret pushed her to the limit, but she retained her Women’s Championship. She was surprised about how people were talking about controversy after the match. Last night, he paid a referee to screw her out of the Women’s Championship. With all the flashy talk and garbage that comes out of his mouth, everyone knows the truth.
