According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, Daniel Bryan agreed to return to the WWE back in May. The site reports that the brand split was originally going to be announced the night after Money in the Bank, and that was going to be the night Bryan returned. They were also going to originally have Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon running RAW and Bryan butting heads with them.
The site did not have details on when the direction changed or when Foley was brought back into the mix.
