WWE SmackDown Rating Drops – New Fall Season To Blame?

SmackDown took a bit hit this week with the new fall season starting. Tuesday night’s episode garnered a 0.73 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 2.292 million viewers per Showbuzz Daily. Those numbers are down 20% and 14% respectively from last week’s 0.91 demo rating and 2.658 million viewers, and both represent the lowest numbers since Smackdown hit the USA Network on Tuesdays — although they are still above the numbers for the last two months of the show’s run on SyFy.

Despite the fall, SmackDown still ranked #1 among cable originals for the night, beating out the OWN’s If Loving You Is Wrong (0.68 demo rating, 2.334 million viewers) for the top spot. The night was notable for many broadcast network returns and premieres from 8 PM to 10 PM, including the second night of The Voice on NBC, FOX’s comedy block and Scream Queens, and NCIS and new series Bull on CBS.
