Update – FloSports Signs Streaming Deal With WWN Live (EVOLVE, FIP)

UPDATE x 2: FloSports has announced a new five-year partnership with WWN Live making the new FloSlam streaming service the worldwide streaming partner of all WWNLive properties, including EVOLVE, SHINE, Full Impact Pro and WWN Supershow. The agreement will begin on November 4th via live coverage of SHINE 38 and will include live coverage of approximately 60 events on FloSlam. It will also include archives from all WWNLive events dating back to 2003 and a series of original documentaries focusing on the lives and stories of the athletes who compete in pro wrestling events across the world.

“We’re excited to serve die-hard pro wrestling fans with live streams of some of the best independent promotions in the world,”

FloSports co-founder and CEO Martin Floreani said. “This is a groundbreaking agreement that will take WWNLive to new heights.”

“Everyone at WWN is excited to be partnering with such an innovative and groundbreaking company like FloSports,” said Sal Hamaoui, President of WWN, Inc. “I recently had the opportunity to meet and speak with their senior management and take a firsthand look at their operations in Austin, Texas. To say that I was impressed with the overall knowledge of their team, the quality of their live streams and their user-friendly platforms would be an understatement. This relationship will allow us to continue to serve and expand our loyal, passionate fan base who will have access to all WWN-branded events at a very affordable monthly or annual price.”

PWInsider reports that the deal will not have any effect on EVOLVE’s working relationship with WWE and that WWN will continue to produce their own shows; it is simply a case of the streaming platform changing. There will be a stream quality upgrade with all streams being 5000k going forward.

While WWNLive.com will not offer new iPPVs or VODs after November 1st, previously-purchased content will still be available on a relaunched WWNLive.com. DVDs and Blu-Rays will now be released ninety days after the event.

UPDATE: The FloSlam website is now open, and you can register “for unlimited access to the best professional wrestling content on the planet.” The service does not name specific promotions, but promises live events, archived events and original documentaries.

The service will cost $150.00 (a one time payment) for the year, or $20.00 a month.

ORIGINAL: According to reports, FloSports (a tech company that is built around live, streaming subscription content) has been in contact with a number of top independent professional wrestling companies. The company has been streaming live sports over the last year; they have also been meeting with independent companies about bringing that content to their platform. Announcements should be coming this week, in regards to companies announcing their shift over to FloSports for streaming events.

There has been some excitement regarding a new money player putting some money into an independent wrestling promotion. We expect more news over the next week or so.

In related news, WWE was part of an investor group for FloSports. The company announced the investor group for the Series B $21.2 million funding. It also includes Discovery Communications and Causeway Media Partners. It’s unknown how much WWE invested.
