TNA News: Jarrett in Charge; New Creative Heads; Talent Nervous

Jeff Jarrett is now the “main guy” in TNA as of two weeks ago, according to Dave Meltzer. He has replaced John Gaburick, who held the title of “Executive Vice President of Creative and Talent Relations.” Gaburick is still with the company, but Dixie Carter is completely out of any decision-making.

Dutch Mantell (Zeb Colter) and Scott D’Amore are heads of creative – roles they previously played while Jarrett was in charge of TNA. Meltzer describes it as “basically the Jarrett regime.” The last tapings were still considered a “continuation of the Gaburick regime” and the next TNA tapings in March will likely take on a new direction.

There is word that lots of talent in TNA is nervous about all the recent changes. Anthem has spent a lot of money to pay off loans and on the Billy Corgan settlement and the company is not currently profitable, so they are looking to cut costs and there is talk of cutting pay for talent. There has also been talk of not aggressively pursuing outside talent that could cost a lot unless it’s a “unique circumstance.”

There are also some, like the Hardys, who have been given lots of creative control in the past, but could possibly see some of that reined in with the new “regime” in charge.
