Sean Waltman Talks Bullet Club & How Val Venis Was Almost In DX

Former WWE and WCW wrestler Sean Waltman AKA X-Pac, 1-2-3 Kid and Syxx talked with Sports Illustrated about multiple topics, but the key areas were how he follows the Bullet Club and the chemistry they have.

I’m a big Bullet Club fan. I’m flattered that they were inspired by us. They took our recipe, like the Young Bucks and the ‘Too Sweet’ sign, but they’re also distinctively Bullet Club

The Bullet Club recently added Marty Scurll to their ranks and Waltman believes he’ll be a good fit, but warned against over expansion after his experience with the nWo and how they even stopped Val Venis being added to D-Generation X, which is something former head writer for the WWE Vince Russo was pushing for.

Even though they are adding on in numbers, they have remained fairly discriminatory in who they add. Marty Scurll is fantastic and I am a big fan of his work. They’re not just throwing a Bullet Club shirt on a guy to get him over, and that’s smart. They need to listen to their gut and not back down.

Russo wanted to put Val Venis in DX, but we said no. We stuck to our guns because he wasn’t right for DX. So, for Bullet Club, if New Japan or Ring of Honor wants Bullet Club to do something they don’t want to do, Bullet Club needs to remember this is their creation and their baby. Stick to your guns. If you feel like someone is not right, then don’t let it be done.

I’m sure that ‘Hello ladies suck it’ would have gotten over big time for a month or so, but in hindsight I’m thinking they made the right call.

Waltman now hosts Afterbuzz TV’s X-Pac 1,2,360 and the full interview goes into the 24-th anniversary of the 1-2-3 Kid’s upset win over Razor Ramon and his recent legal troubles.
