EVOLVE 87 Results – June 25, 2017 – Matt Riddle vs. Keith Lee

EVOLVE 87
June 25, 2017
Queens, NY – La Boom

Tracy Williams defeated ACH via crossface submission

This was a very good match. After the match, ACH complained about having to wrestle in the opening match.

Timothy Thatcher defeated Jason Kincaid via armbar submission

This match had lots and lots of grappling and seemed like it went on a bit too long.

Fred Yehi defeated Chris Dickinson via Koji Clutch submission

Very good, evenly fought match.

EVOLVE Championship
Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Jaka via bridging pinfall

Before the match, Jaka got on the mic and asked if anyone thought he could win the title tonight. Most people in the crowd said no. This was a really good match and the crowd was very into it. Sabre won seemingly out of nowhere with a bridge to pin Jaka.

After the match, Stokely Hathaway came out, then Darby Allin came out and they each tried to grab the mic. Timothy Thatcher came in and grabbed it from them, then said he wanted a title shot in a no holds barred match. He then attacked ZSJ, then attacked Darby Allin and tore off his cast from his broken elbow and beat him with it.

Ethan Page defeated Thomas Sharp via Spinning Dwayne

Thomas Sharp was Ethan Page’s former bodyguard and “Gatekeeper.” Sharp looked pretty impressive and this was a good match.

Trent Barreta defeated Austin Theory via the Dudebuster

Another really good match. Crowd chanted “please come back” at Trent. After the match, Priscilla Kelly came out and distracted Trent, then Austin Theory hit him with a low blow from behind and Austin, seemingly turning heel, left with Priscilla.

WWN Championship
Matt Riddle defeated Keith Lee via headbutt

Amazing match. The crowd was extremely into this throughout, with dueling chants and loud chants of “Both These Guys.” After lots of great action, both guys exhaustedly exchanged blows in the middle of the ring until Riddle hit Lee with a headbutt to knock him down, then collapsed onto him for the win.

After the match, Ethan Page came out and attacked both men, saying he was sick of them being the “golden geese” of the company. Tracy Williams then came out and attacked Riddle while Page attacked Lee. Williams said he would be facing Riddle for the WWN Championship on August 12, then had Stokely Hathaway slap Riddle. Riddle and Lee eventually got up and fist-bumped in the ring, to the crowd’s delight.

Amazing overall show with another hot crowd in Queens.
