Current Status of Billy Corgan’s Attempt to Purchase the NWA

As previously reported, Billy Corgan’s attempt to become the new owner of the National Wrestling Alliance hit a big setback recently due to problems related to expired NWA trademarks.

In a recent report by PWInsider, those trademark issues appear to have been resolved making it possible for a deal between Corgan and the NWA to be finalized soon. The United States Patent and Trademark Office originally only allowed a partial transfer of trademark rights from Bruce Tharpe’s ownership to Billy Corgan’s ownership on May 25th but as of June 21st, full ownership of all NWA trademarks was granted to Billy Corgan’s Lightning One Inc. company.


Two More Competitors Revealed for the Mae Young Classic

Two more competitors for the field of the upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament were revealed during tonight’s NXT TV tapings.

WWE held qualifications matches for spots in the tournament with NXT’s Bianca Belair (formerly Bianca Blair) defeating Aliyah and NXT’s Vanessa Borne (formerly Danielle Kamela) defeating indie wrestler Jayme Hachey for those two spots.


“WWE Did You Know” Fact – Asuka’s NXT Championship Reign

In a recent tweet by ESPN, Asuka was revealed to have recently tied Trish Stratus for third longest Women’s championship reign in WWE history at 448 days. Stratus’ title run occur during 2005 to 2006 while Asuka needs 54 more days to tie Rockin’ Robin for second longest reign ever at 502 days. Fabulous Moolah currently holds the WWE Women’s championship reign record at 10,170 days.


Impact Wrestling Celebrated 15th Anniversary This Week

Impact Wrestling celebrated their 15th anniversary this past Monday with former owner Dixie Carter sending a congratulations message. Carter praised everyone who helped play a role in building the company over the past fifteen years.
