Some Impact Wrestling News and Notes

Impact Wrestling is currently in talks with several wrestlers in regards to possible deals and appearances for the company. Pro Wrestling NOAH stars Naomichi Marufuji and Taiji Ishimori were revealed to be in talks for a possible appearance at this year’s Slammiversary show while several talent from Mexico’s AAA promotion are in talks to become possible new members for the LAX stable.

Besides a new announce team for Slammiversary, Impact Wrestling is also in talks with former WCW and Impact announcer Mike Tenay for the event, according to PWInsider.

Jeff Jarrett revealed on Twitter he will be traveling to Los Angeles soon for some Impact-related business talks.


ROH Adds New Stipulation to Best in the World’s 8-Man Tag Match

Ring of Honor announced a new stipulation has been added to the recently announced 8-man tag match for June’s Best in the World pay-per-view event. The stip involves the losing team between The Rebellion and Seek & Destroy being forced to disband after the match.


Status of Billy Corgan’s Purchase of NWA Still Uncertain

The status of Billy Corgan’s purchase of the NWA is still uncertain according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer stated those close to the situation claimed a deal between Corgan and NWA owner Burce Thrape has been signed despite the on-going problems but at the moment, no money has changed hands nor has Corgan officially taken over as the new owner. Also NWA affiliates and other officials are still being kept in the dark about the current status and progress between the two side.


AXS TV to Hold NJPW Marathon Leading to G1 Climax Special

AXS TV announced they will be holding a New Japan Pro Wrestling marathon leading into July’s G1 Special in the United States. The plan is to air a two hour version of the recent Dominion show and hold an all-day marathon of NJPW shows leading to the live broadcast of the first night of the G1 Special on July 1st.
