News & Notes: More MYC Details, WWE Network, NJPW G1, WWE UK Title

More Mae Young Classic News

As reported earlier today, WWE announced they will be holding a special “Parade of Champions” show for the upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament later this week on Youtube and Facebook. The full list of participants is expected to be revealed during the show.

Some other smaller details regarding the event includes Jim Ross revealing on Twitter he recently spent 15 hours at WWE’s Performance Center preparing for the tournament. Lita and Madusa will be this week’s guests for The Ross Report podcast show discussing this event. Madusa revealed on Instagram she is currently helping the WWE for the tournament.


New Content Added to WWE Network

WWE recently added a new classic show to their Madison Square Garden series and several years worth of shows from the ECW brand to the WWE Network.

In regards to the Madison Square Garden series, the show was revealed to be from June 30, 1973 and headlined by a WWWF Championship match between George Steele and champion Pedro Morales. In regards to the ECW brand, the first 143 episodes from 2006 to 2009 were added to the Network.


NJPW Releases New Details and Website for 2017 G1 Climax

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently launched an official website for the tournament with the cards listed for every date of the event.

Two matches were announced for tournament’s final card occurring on August 13th with one being an IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match between champions The Young Bucks and Ricochet & Ryusuke Taguchi. The other being an IWGP Tag Team Championship match between champions War Machine and Cody & Hangman Page. The August 13th show will also include the finals of the G1 Climax tournament with the participants to be revealed at a later date.


ICW Reveals Fatal 4-Way for WWE UK Championship Match

WWE recently posted a video on their official Youtube channel revealing the upcoming WWE UK Championship match at ICW’s Shug’s Hoose Party 4 event on July 29 will be a Fatal 4-Way match. WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne will be defending his title against Wolfgang, BT Gunn, and Trent Seven.
