Another Possible Reason for Talking Smack’s Demise

As previously reported, WWE recently dropped Talking Smack from a weekly Network series to a post-ppv series. Reasons ranging between low viewership, costs, and Vince not liking the format were stated as reasons for the decision.

According to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, another possible reason for the decision involved Vince not liking a certain segment on the show and felt it should have occurred on Smackdown instead. It involved the New Day making their debut appearance for the Smackdown brand on Talking Smack instead of that week’s episode of Smackdown itself. The incident ended up becoming one of the final straws Vince had for the show.

Matt Sydal Injured During Recent GFW TV Tapings

Matt Sydal is reported to have suffered a dislocated shoulder during recent TV tapings for GFW, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

While details are sparse, Dave Meltzer reported Sydal likely suffered the injury during his last match at the tapings. This would have been the tag team match featuring him, X Division Champion Sonjay Dutt, and GFW Champion Alberto El Patron facing off against Trevor Lee, Low Ki, and Bobby Lashley.

Rumor: NXT Star Suffers Injury at NXT House Show

NXT’s Buddy Murphy is rumored to have suffered a possible ankle or leg injury during a recent NXT house show according to those at the event.

The injury supposedly occurred during the main event which was a tag match featuring Hideo Itami and The Velveteen Dream facing off against Murphy and Kassius Ohno. Murphy landed badly on his ankle from a spot early into the match and required immediate medical treatment. Murphy tried to stay in the match but was unable to continue and left for the backstage to get more treatment.
