On Busted Open Radio Billy Corgan announced that the NWA has let all regional contracts lapse and that the NWA will be one big organization going forward, instead of having licensed affiliates.
Corgan said live events will start running in the spring and that while no specifics have been contractually set upon yet, the current goal is to run a free show, that is available to watch online anywhere in the world. He expects to start signing talent soon.
Unless something changes in the future, we’re on a path to start running shows in the spring. We’re going to first be a television product and what I mean by that is we’re going to do shows for free on the internet. We haven’t worked out the specifics yet, but we will hopefully be a weekly show that anybody in the world can watch for free behind no paywall. And we’ll start signing talent and we’ll start running shows.
We want to build up the brand by putting wrestling first. Hopefully we’ll build up a fan base and build some momentum and hopefully if we make deals, it’ll be based off of what we’re doing and not what we hope to do.
We are actually going to be producing content and doing shows by the spring.
