Future Stars Of Wrestling and Defy Wrestling Join Anthem’s Global Wrestling Network Service

Future Stars of Wrestling and Defy Wrestling announced they have recently signed deals to provide content for Anthem’s Global Wrestling Network service.

Future Stars of Wrestling will primarily be providing content from their extensive tape library featuring matches and shows involving both current Impact Wrestling stars and other big name stars from the indies. Defy Wrestling will be providing content from their library as well as airing a match between Randy Myers and Sami Callihan from DEFY9 on this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling.


Indie Wrestling News & Notes

Ring of Honor recently announced another match has been added to the card of next month’s Final Battle pay-per-view event. This will be a Six-Man Tag Team Championship match involving Flip Gordon, Dragon Lee, & Titan facing off against champions The Young Bucks & Hangman Page.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Metlzer reported WrestleCade’s series of shows last weekend in Winston-Slam, North Carolina was the most successful event in company history. The November 25th show involving AML Wrestling directly competing against WWE’s own Starrcade event in Greensboro, North Carolina. While the event was very successful, not everything was good for WrestleCade due to the November 24th show involved the theft of the night’s cash box after the show ended.

CageSideSeats reported Beyond Wrestling has recently signed a multi-year deal with streaming website Powerbomb.tv, who made the announcement official on Twitter. Terms of the deal includes Powerbomb.tv getting access to Beyond Wrestling’s entire Video On Demand archive, replays of events three days after their live airing, and Beyond Wrestling’s sister promotion Women’s Wrestling Revolution being included in the deal.


Lucha Underground Scouting for New Female Talent for Season Four

Lucha Underground is currently reported to be scouting for new female wrestlers for the upcoming Season Four tapings, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported the company recently scouted for potential new talent at recent event held by RISE Wrestling.


NJPW News & Notes

Bad Luck Fale recently opened his new wrestling school located in New Zealand for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Fale and boxer Dempsey Walker were announced to be the main trainers of the school which focuses on teaching wrestling skills as well as striking and conditioning techniques.

As previously reported, NJPW announced they were in the process of launching an official English language Youtube channel with a sneak peak given last week. They officially launched the new channel on December 1st with NJPW stating it will contain exclusive content and English subtitles for interviews, pre-show content, and post-show content. This new channel is part of NJPW current plans to expand their brand across the globe.

Online wrestling merchandise website ProWrestlingTees announced over 417,000 Bullet Club shirts have been sold at Hot Topic stores during the past four months and in the process have become the highest selling merchandise for the retailer chain. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported The Young Bucks managed to surpass Rick & Morty merchandise last week to become the top selling merchandise, along with Bullet Club merchandise, for the first time ever at Hot Topic stores.
