Laurel Van Ness’ Contract Status in Impact Wrestling

During a recent interview with The Orlando Sentinel, current Knockouts champion Laurel Van Ness stated that her Impact contract does not expire until June 2018. She reportedly requested her release from Impact following the last tapings in November, after she won the title at the tapings. Impact seemed likely to grant her the release after dropping the title at the next set of tapings, but we’ll see if she stays for the remainder of her contract.

She also said that her main priority right now is to help the Knockouts division put on the best matches for Impact Wrestling fans.

“Nothing fazes me anymore. That Knockouts locker room is my constant. We focus on us, our friendships and our match quality and we can’t think about anything else. Our job is to put on the best show possible for you, and that’s what we want.”

Impact Wrestling’s “Best of 2017” Recap Episode to Feature Bound for Glory’s Main Event

Impact Wrestling revealed the Impact Global Championship match from last month’s Bound for Glory event will air as part of next week’s “Best of 2017 – Part 2” recap episode. This match featured Johnny Impact versus champion Eli Drake and included interference from Alberto El Patron who made his return to the company since being suspended in August.

For those in the United Kingdom, Spike TV UK will not be airing Impact Wrestling this week and instead will air this recap episode and a new episode of Impact as part of a doubleheader on January 5th.

Update on Neville’s Status in WWE

There have been no new movements regarding Neville’s current status in WWE and it appears that he’ll most likely have to wait until his current contract expires, according to PWInsider. Making things potentially worse for Neville is WWE having the power to “freeze” or suspend contracts if certain conditions are met which could make Neville’s wait even longer. This was the same tactic used against Rey Mysterio prior to his official departure.
