In-Ring: Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon

Bryan welcomes everyone to the show. He leads the show talking about the announcement last night that WWE will present that first ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. Bryan calls this a “turning point” in WWE history. He plugs tonight: Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE Champion AJ Styles.

Here comes Shane McMahon to interrupt. Shane grabs a mic and does his Shane O’Mac dance near Bryan. He mentions the Royal Rumble announcement, but wants to instead focus on Clash of Champions this past Sunday. Shane says everything was happening the right when Orton hit Zayn with “the most beautiful RKO I’ve ever seen.”

Shane talked about making the pinfall count and just as he was about to hit three, Bryan somehow broke it up. He talked about again having another opportunity and deciding to keep his hand up at two when Zayn went for a roll up. Shane accused Bryan of getting heated and Bryan eventually making the quick count to keep Owens and Zayn here.

Bryan says he did what he did to protect Shane from himself. Shane says he doesn’t need protection. Bryan says he actually does. He says Shane eats, sleeps and breathes Smackdown Live, but that Shane’s passion can turn him into a hot head. Bryan did what he did to protect an idea, “our idea.” He took the job because he believes in a shared vision: the land of opportunity “for everyone – not just people you like.” Shane tells Bryan that Owens and Zayn will stab him in the back at some point. He cautions Bryan to not show favoritism towards them and it will “bite him right in the rear.” Bryan asks Shane if he should have done what was best for business. He’s heard those words before and fought against those very words. “I believe in you, Shane. I believe in Smackdown Live.” Bryan says if Shane has a completely different vision and wants to fire someone, he thinks Shane should fire him. The crowd starts a loud “NO” chant. Bryan doesn’t want to see Shane O’Mac turn into Mr. McMahon. Shane says he respects Bryan and wishes him luck with the show tonight. Shane shakes hands with Bryan, drops the mic and exits the ring.
