Alberto El Patron met with Vince McMahon at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT this past Wednesday, according to PWInsider.
Patron was reportedly there to shoot interview material for an upcoming WWE project about Rey Mysterio, but while he was there, he also met with Vince McMahon.
According to PWInsider, there have been “rumblings” recently about a possible return to WWE for Alberto. Vince McMahon is apparently the main person behind the possibility since he’s said to be “extremely high” on Alberto.
Alberto, who left WWE in 2016 and had some well publicized problems with Triple H, said in January that he has made up with WWE and Triple H. He also said that he could definitely see himself returning to WWE.
Alberto’s contract with Impact expires in April and Impact has been working hard to re-sign him. They met with him this weekend to discuss a new deal and the overall feeling was said to be positive and Impact was optimistic that Del Rio would be staying with the company. I guess we will see…
