WWE Tattoo Artist Lawsuit Update

As previously reported, WWE is currently dealing with a lawsuit from Randy Orton’s tattoo artist in regards to allegations of copyright infringement. The lawsuit claims that both WWE and 2K Games have been using the artist’s designs without permission for WWE’s 2K video game series.

In an update to this situation, several more companies were recently added as defendants to the lawsuit including 2K Games’ parent company Take-Two Entertainment and WWE video game developer Yuke’s Co. Ltd. The tattoo artist, Catherine Alexander, is also claiming Randy Orton does not have legal ownership to her designs nor any rights to negotiate the use of her designs in video games without her permission.

In regards to the ownership of the tattoo designs, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Alexander filed trademarks for her designs on March 15, 2018.
