Buff Bagweel Interview: WCW, Vince McMahon, TNA, more

By Chris Walters on March 18, 2004 at 5:06 PM EST

Buff Bagwell was interviewed on NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia today. He said he loves visiting Charlottesville and mentions that the last time he was in town he was doing charity work; he loved working with Wal-Mart so much that he is doing more promotions with them. He said his neck is feeling so much better and is its best shape of his life. He said he looked forward to retiring in WCW but now that it's gone he'll just have to move on. He goes on about how people think he's older than he really is, but he's really just a kid. Bagwell has been working since he was 20-years old so people tend to think he's older since he's been around for a while.

Bagwell feels that wrestling is partially to blame to wrestlers' death with its travel schedule and daily stresses, in addition to the depression of being fired and jobless. He suggested that wrestling have a season. That way, the "off season" would give wrestlers a break from the traveling and wear and tear on their bodies. He said when he was in the hospital with his neck injury, Rick Rude and Curt Hennig both came to see him together and now both of them are gone.

He said he speaks to Vince about every two months or so and he hopes that TNA can get a TV deal so that wrestlers can have an option and the business would pick up. He said once they get a TV deal he would return.

Bagwell will be on Regis and Kelly sometime in the future and has been thinking about trying out for Apprentice 2.
