According to the USPTO, the trademark for ECW was suspended as of January 2004. That pretty much indicates that there is no activity with the WWE bringing back ECW at this time as has been rumored recently.

However the WWE has been working on the Trademarks for WCW through April, which could indicate that WCW will return in some capacity in the near future.
