If you read our report here last night or the SmackDown taping results earlier today, then you probably know that Paul Heyman appeared for this week's edition of SmackDown.

The original plan was to have a banged up Kurt Angle appear on the show as the brand's General Manager. However, the direction of the program changed when creative team members decided that it would make more sense to bring Paul Heyman back and have Angle sell the injury. Nevertheless it was announced last night that Heyman's spot as GM was "for one night" only.

Many people in WWE feel that Angle is not getting over in the GM role on SmackDown and feel that since he took over after Paul Heyman "quit" so to speak, the ratings have declined greatly. At this point it is unknown if Heyman is back on SmackDown for good or not, however, he worked this week's show to see what happens. If Heyman does return to WWE full time it is unknown at this time what his role in the company will be.
