More on Eddie Guerrero

As a follow-up to the earlier post:

- Various sites are reporting that the cause of death is believed at this time to have been heart failure. Granted, this is still very much a preliminary diagnosis, but it certainly helped put this writer's mind at ease that it wasn't something worse.

- WWE.com has posted a video of a press conference held this afternoon regarding Eddie's passing, as well as several other tribute links.

- Tonight's Supershow taping has become an Eddie Guerrero tribute night. Both RAW and SmackDown will be dedicated to Eddie and - like the Owen Hart RAW in 1999 - participation will be on a voluntary basis.

- Reportedly, Chavo will be competing as Chavo Guerrero at the taping and not as Kerwin White, but until full spoilers are available, take this as rumor.

- And, though it seems inappropriate to talk about the main-event scene on such a day, we are still a wrestling website. No word yet on what will happen to the advertised triple-threat match between Eddie, Randy Orton, and Batista for the WWE Title. Rumor has it that Eddie was to win the match and the title. Speculation is that Chris Benoit may take Eddie's spot in the match (he could never replace him) and win the title as a tribute. Again, this is pure speculation at this point.

- Finally, the TPWW message boards have been alive today with tributes to Eddie Guerrero, both the performer and the man. If you would like to add your two cents worth, here is the link to a thread dedicated to one of the best friends most of us will never have the pleasure to have met.

Rest in peace, Eddie. This year's HeavenMania card just got a little bit stronger.
