World Wrestling Entertainment is expected to rush through the current season of WWE NXT with the final episode airing on October 1 just before the premiere of Friday Night SmackDown! on Syfy. The third season of NXT will feature five episodes in total.

While company officials adore NXT and have vowed it will continue, they have been unable to land a new home for the show. With that being said, there was a discussion this past week of moving the show to WGN America. Vince McMahon said that ideally, they would keep both NXT and WWE Superstars.

Despite the injury, Mercury is expected to remain on television since he had his arm on Monday’s RAW just days after surgery. Many feel that with Serena’s recent release, it wasn’t a good time to remove Mercury from television since the Straight Edge Society wouldn’t be much of a group with two people. However, Punk and Gallows broke up at the following last night’s SmackDown !television taping in Albany, NY, so the injury may have been the catalyst to disband the group. It sure seemed like it last night – the S.E.S is ending.

– Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling television program scored a 0.7 local rating on August 21, which equals approximately 11,000 viewers.

– In what has to be great news for WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, longtime Oklahoma Sooners football commentator Bob Barry announced on Tuesday that he is retiring. Ross said in various interviews over the years that calling Oklahoma football has been a lifelong dream of his, so this could be his chance to fill that position.

Who was backstage at SD! last night – A major SHOCKER (>>)!

– There was what has been described as “significant dressing room unrest” from several key stars within TNA who felt it was a big mistake to push the EV2.0 group on television, more specifically as the top babyface group. A good number of top main event performers in the company were strongly against TNA bringing them and even doing the “Hardcore Justice” themed PPV in the first place. They were pissed about the payday more than anything. It’s basically just a small group of disgruntled guys while others within the company are happy these days. Some websites and newsletters are blowing the locker-room situation way out of proportion for reasons only they know or their own personal agendas.

– Kurt Angle made a pitch to the TNA office for a program with X Division wrestler The Amazing Red following a match the two had on an episode of iMPACT! a few weeks ago. According to a source within the company, TNA turned it down.

3 TNA Talents Who Are 100% CONFIRMED PISSED OFF – Nash, Angle, &……?!?!?

Vince McMahon noted in a recent interview with the Boston Herald that he held a talent meeting a few years ago urging his performers to “reach for the brass ring” regardless of whom they have to step over. He particularly recalled John Cena approaching him at the end of the meeting to say, ‘I’m your man.’

The interview caught the attention of an anonymous wrestler who attended the meeting. He said there were actually five wrestlers who came over to McMahon following the meeting to say they were the right man for the job.

“The only difference is that Cena did his ‘stepping over guys’ in the locker room more than the ring,” said the wrestler.

The anonymous wrestler feels McMahon was looking for a “backstabbing asshole/stooge” to serve as his top WWE Superstar.

“It has zero to do with in-ring talent,” the wrestler said. “Cena stepped on guys like the Spirit Squad and others who were only there for less than six months.”

John Cena Responds On Twitter & He’s NOT HAPPY (>>)!!

Casting for three other new characters will be announced in the next few weeks. Filming will take place in North Carolina and Hawaii, and will start in late October. The targeted release date is September 23rd, 2011.

It’s interesting to note that the first “Journey” movie starred actor Brandon Frasier, but he and the studio were unable to agree on the sequel’s filming schedule, so he was replaced. Frasier was the star of the movie which launched Johnson’s movie career back in 2001, The Mummy Returns.

His reaction to those wrestling fans that ask the question “Where is the controversy in TNA?” and if we will be seeing that on TNA programming in the coming weeks/months: “I think that you will. One of the challenges in the business today, and the same is true in the WWE, what can we do that hasn’t been done to death in the last 10 to 12 years? When I launched Nitro, and we did all the ridiculous stuff & controversial stuff that I did that put WCW on the map, nobody had ever done it before, and that’s what made it controversial. That’s why I was the ‘anti-Christ’ for wrestling fans, because I was doing things no one had done before. Giving away finishes live on the air five minutes before the competition’s show went on. All these things people said was stupid & ridiculous, how do you do that again? How does Vince McMahon do all things that are ground-breaking, controversial, & water cooler buzz? How does he recreate those elements in the guidelines of a televised wrestling show? How do you recreate that in today’s environment? Is there going to be controversy in TNA? Of course there is. Are we seeing right now? Without giving anything away, I think we’re setting it up. In the months to come, people are going to see some things that are controversial, but I don’t think anyone should raise the bar of expectations so high that we are magically going to get back to that virgin territory that we enjoyed 10 or 12 years ago.”

How much input he usually has into an edition of TNA iMPACT, his response to those that strongly believe that Hulk Hogan & himself are “running TNA,” and the current chemistry between himself & Vince Russo: “It varies a lot depending on the week. I’ve read some of the comments of some of your other guests on Monday Night Mayhem talking about me, and I think Kevin Kelly was one of the ones I read last, and I know people out there think and are under the assumption that Eric Bischoff & Hulk Hogan are ‘running TNA.’ Nothing is farther from the truth. We have nothing to do with the strategy of the company. We have nothing to do with the marketing of the company. Nobody talks to us or asks us about talent acquisitions or people getting fired. We have little to do with the day-to-day operations of TNA. The same is kinda true with regards to creative. I work closely with Vince Russo, I see the formats, I give my suggestions. Vince & I have a great working relationship, and in regards to chemistry, I would say besides my partner Jason Hervey and Hulk, there’s no one better that I have a working relationship with.”

The Internet’s constant stream of hating against TNA & why it’s easier for fans to point out the flaws of TNA than those of the WWE: “Let me put it to you this way: Misery loves company. It’s easier for people who are negative, who want to criticize without really having anything intelligent to say and without it being constructive criticism. It’s one of the reasons why I constantly am trying to raise the bar, eliminating one stupid fan at a time. When I see the kind of comments like ‘TNA Sucks’ or ‘Your storylines blow,’ or ‘Fire Russo, or ‘Fire Bischoff,’ or ‘Hogan sucks,’ I laugh at that stuff because there are a lot of people out there and because misery loves company. Let’s face it, WWE is a giant bandwagon. It’s been around a long time. It’s easier & safer when you’re the type of person who is looking for a group of miserable people to jump on the bandwagon that’s successful, because the WWE is a cable television juggernaut. It is what it is. So it’s easy to jump on that bandwagon and look down at TNA for its warts, blemishes, bumps, bruises, & dents because there’s plenty of them. TNA is not WWE. It’s not a billion dollar company with the kind of infrastructure & production staff taking their show live on the road every week. There’s so many things that we don’t have that it’s easy to point out our flaws. I think if you look at what TNA does, and does well, and tries to do. We are ‘the little engine that’s trying.’ There’s some great talent in the ring, I think we have the greatest balance of new, young & exciting talent, established talent that rates well despite what everyone else wants to believe on the Internet. If you’re objective and you’re a real wrestling fan, you’re gonna have comments, and while you may not like certain things that are happening in TNA, you’ll find plenty of things to like.”

Bret Hart’s comments about Vince McMahon “stomping out” TNA from Monday nights, the impact “The Hitman” may have had in making that a reality, & what the final outcome would have been for TNA on Monday nights had Bret Hart never come back to the WWE: “I like Bret so much so it’s hard for me to comment about things like this. Bret Hart is a little pre-occupied with the legacy of Bret Hart. Not going to deny it, the move to Monday night was a mistake. It is what it is. It was ill-conceived, it was bad timing, it was a risk, and it was a risk that didn’t pan out. I’ve taken plenty of risks that didn’t work out, and I’ve taken some risks that have. Vince McMahon has taken some risks that worked and taken plenty of risks that hasn’t. The move to Monday night was a miss, and I’ll take as much responsibility for that as anybody else. I don’t think any of it had anything to do with Bret Hart. I think if Bret Hart would have never come back to WWE, the outcome of our Monday night effort would have been exactly the same.”

His thoughts on this Sunday’s No Surrender Pay-Per-View & why his primary focus will be on the semi-finals of the TNA World Title Tournament: “I think there are some great matches on the card. The primary thing that I’m focused on is our ‘A-story,’ which is who is going to become TNA World Heavyweight Champion. You got four powerful names there, four very exciting talents four guys who could deliver anywhere in the world in either company. You got four guys who are great storytellers and can deliver in the ring. If there’s a reason to watch the Pay-Per-View, that’s the one thing I would encourage people to follow & watch, because it’s another chapter in a pretty interesting story that we laid out back in March, and I’m excited about it.”

– As noted earlier, Chris Jericho’s WWE contract is set to expire soon, and as of last week a new deal has not been signed. Jericho wants to stay with WWE but the two sides are at an impasse, possibly having to do with the number of dates he has to work each month. Jericho wants a lighter schedule to accommodate other ventures but WWE doesn’t want to set a precedent for people who don’t have the same tenure of people like the Undertaker.

– WWE NXT ring announcer Jamie Keyes confirmed on her Twitter account yesterday afternoon that the Rookies and Pros for the third season of NXT would be announced during this week’s NXT broadcast which they were. *The VIP Lounge is the All American American Lounge since Jack Swagger gets to host, since he beat MVP last week. Swagger comes out with his father, who is still in a wheelchair from the injuries Kane caused several months back. Swagger Sr. said that he was proud of his son and wants him to do pushups for a minute. Swagger is doing them when MVP comes out. They argue back and forth and Swagger Sr. falls out of the wheelchair. MVP tosses Swagger out of the ring and nails Swagger Sr. with the Ballin’ elbow.

*Cody Rhodes pinned Matt Hardy. Before the match, Rhodes made fun of Hardy’s appearances and said if anyone needed a tire, Matt has a spare.

*WWE World champion Kane cut a promo on the Titantron, saying he would defend his title at the Night of Champions and destroy the Undertaker once and for all. The Druids come out with a coffin. Kane pops out and says he was always the “other brother” and the “afterthought” but now the roles are reversed and Undertaker is in his shadow. Kane says Taker is weak and Kane saw his weakness when he left Taker comatose. Kane says their saga is over. Taker will be no more and nothing will stop him from destroying Taker. The lights go out and when they return, Taker is in the ring. The lights go out again and when they return, Kane is gone. Undertaker goes to the coffin and opens it but there’s nothing inside. Kane appears on the Tron and promises he is going to destroy the Undertaker at the Night of Champions.

John Morrison (Raw brand) beat Tyler Reks in 5:00. “Morrison” chants lead to the flying chuck kick and Starship Pain for the pin. Strong heat for Morrison, which helped transfer over to Reks.

Superstars TV taping for Thursday (9/2):

(1) Kofi Kingston beat Chavo Guerrero in 13:00. “Chavo” chants from the anti-Universe were quickly drowned out by buzz for Kofi. A near double count-out was broken up at nine. “Kofi” chants erupted. At the ten-minute mark, the crowd was willing Kofi back from a sleeper, then a leglock. Chavo paid homage to Eddie Guerrero with the Three Amigos; “Eddie” chants started. Kofi then dropped Chavo with a spinning heel kick for the win. This will most likely be the Superstars main event.

– The August 28th edition of Lucha Libre USA scored a 0.05 rating and 45,000 viewers. The show aired on a Saturday as opposed to the usual Friday night time slot.

– Lucha Libre USA managing director Steve Ship has confirmed that the current run of the show is finished on MTV2. The plan was always to do seasons of the show, like other MTV properties, and the 52-week agreement that they signed was not for 52 straight weeks.

– The September 9th event in Corpus Christi, Texas at Whataburger Field as well as other events scheduled will take place as planed. Content will be filmed at these events and used for the LLUSA website and MTV2′s website.

– The footage filmed in Charlotte over the weekend will be used as online content.

– For the next season of the show, they will tape from one location, ala TNA Impact, but that location has not been announced yet.

– Ratings for the series were what MTV expected them to be.

There are numerous rookies for NXT season 3 including several smokin’ hot Divas. They will be introduced tonight.

The WWE dress code is in full effect today. CM Punk doesn’t need to follow it. Neither does John Cena or MVP. It’s part of their gimmicks.

Most of the rental cars are from New York which is surprising because some drove here from Boston.

Lucky Cannon changed and headed back out to the gym around 2:10EST.

Most of the guys arrived at the arena and changed to head to the gym followed by meetings.

1:45EST – Drew McIntire, Chris Masters and MVP all arrived together. MVP went directly to the production truck. There was no Tiffany with Drew because she is suspended due to a hotel incident. 1:47EST – The Bella Twins arrived with Primo. No Ziggler in that car as he and Nikki Bella no longer date.

1:50EST – The entire S.E.S. – Joey Mercury, CM Punk and Luke Gallows and Kofi Kingston arrived together. BIG NEWS: Joey Mercury had his arm in a sling. I can report that he’s suffered a ton pec. The injury happened closer to SummerSlam although WWE has not addressed it yet.

Cena says he prefers pro wrestling because it’s “regulated entertainment that’s safe for anyone to enjoy.’’

As for UFC … “It is what it is. It can be pretty over the top, and it’s not something I’d want my children to watch.’’

Cena also spoke about his new movie “Legendary,” co-starring Patricia Clarkson and Danny Glover. Cena has played action hero tough-guy roles in “The Marine” and “12 Rounds,” but plays a sensitive character in Legendary. “I’m used to dodging bullets and explosions. And this is more of a dramatic piece.’’

Despite making a few movies already, Cena admits he’s still “fairly inexperienced when it comes to cinematic acting’’ but hopes to continue his acting career.”

The current plan is to introduce the season three rookies tonight during the season two finale of WWE NXT. It looks like they will bring in “rookie divas” as a way to boost the ratings. There are numerous new ‘rookies’ backstage at today’s TV tapings in Albany, NY.

The series will finish up on October 1st,which will give them five episodes to complete the third season. The final episode will serve as a lead in for the debut of Smackdown on SyFy.

At this time WWE is looking to either move the show to WWE.com or if they cannot secure another home, they may incorporate the show into Raw and Smackdown. WWE’s problem with finding a new home for NXT is that is they want to go to other cable networks, but are only allowed to take the cable series to a home under the NBC-Universal umbrella, and that has become a challenge for them.

SyFy has opted not to keep the series due to the ratings. Back in 2006, SyFy was sold on the ECW brand as it was supposed to be a stand-alone brand, exclusive to the network. While the show initially brought in good ratings, it eventually became “just another WWE show,” and not must see TV like Raw or Smackdown. SyFy felt as if they did not get what was promised, and when they wanted to drop ECW, Kevin Dunn pitched the NXT concept to them. Based off of Dunn’s pitch, SyFy signed off on the NXT deal, thinking that the show would do better ratings than ECW had been doing

Ratings for NXT dipped below the ECW ratings, and when SyFy had the chance to get Smackdown, they took the chance due to Smackdown historically doing well on network television. With the addition of Smackdown, they decided to drop NXT and focus on the stronger series.

– Due to a scheduling conflict, the previously announced WWE Suershow in Victoria, B.C on October 17th was canceled. It has been announced that on October 17th the WWE will run a Supershow at the ENMAX Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The show will start at 5PM, and tickets go on sale September 11th at 10AM.

– WWE officials were reportedly upset with some of its female performers following the company’s recent tour in California, which resulted in the suspension of Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) and the release of Serena. It is said that there was “too much drama” amongst the Divas during its West Coast swing.

On Monday’s RAW, Chris Jericho announced that he will be leaving WWE once and for all if he does not win the WWE Championship in the 6-pack challenge match at Night of Champions. With Jericho’s WWE contract expiring soon and talk that he’s strongly considering leaving the company to pursue his career in the entertainment industry, it appears WWE has begun setting the stage for his possible departure.

As of this past weekend, a WWE source stated that Jericho still has not signed a new contract. It’s still entirely possible that Jericho re-signs, but since Jericho has acknowledged in several recent interviews that his contract is expiring and he’s considering moving on, WWE has incorporated the real situation into WWE storylines.

Jericho has said he wants more time off to to spend with his family, record music and tour with his heavy metal band Fozzy and pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry.

-And we kick things off with a video package highlighting Raw through the years. It’s a feat so monumental it’s never been done before. Stone Cold’s beer bath. Jericho’s debut. Show throwing Mayweather. The Game’s return in 2002. 900 episodes. It’s record breaking dammit. We then cut to the normal Raw opening video package (for those of you wondering, there’s no new WWE symbol or anything). Coleslaw and Lawler welcome us in, hyping up the evening. Tonight we’ll see Cena, Sheamus, Jericho, Edge and Orton face The Nexus in an elimination tag team match.

-And we’re kicking things off with an appearance from Bret Hart. Hart says hello to Boston. 17 years ago a new show debuted called Monday Night Raw. He confesses that even back then he wondered if Raw would catch on, but thanks to the fans, 900 episodes later it looks to be doing pretty damn good. In fact, Raw has the most shows in the history of prime time television. Since the very beginning. There was only one other wrestler whose still here who was there back then. And that’s the Undertaker. So he thought it might be appropriate… and here comes Kane.

Kane says there is no Undertaker anymore. Thanks to him physically decimating him and leaving him to rot in a vegetative state, Undertaker is a phenom no longer. He’s not phenomenal in any way. He’s just a man. A man that Bret once knew. He’s like Bret. Weak, feeble, straggly, over the hill, irreversibly damaged. His brother ended the career of Shawn Michaels. Bret must have loved that. A man Bret seemingly made amends with but really demised seen laid to rest. Bret says he’s going to love it when Undertaker gets his hands on Kane and beats him like he always does. Kane says the only thing he’s only ever wanted was to break out of Taker’s shadow and to prove he’s the best. The Undertaker took out an icon in Shawn Michaels, that means Kane needs to do the same. He needs to take out an icon of his own. He needs to take out you. Kane goozles Bret. And here comes the Hart Dynasty, but Kane attacks them first. Bret starts fighting back but to no avail. Lights out bitch. They’re back on, and Taker’s in the ring. He and Kane stare down. Kane starts laughing and bails out. Kane says not yet. Coleslaw’s got an email. Cole says he’s seen this iconic moments taking place. The GM has decided to make Bret Hart vs the Undertaker. What? The crowd really doesn’t know what to think of that. Taker stares at Bret as Bret leaves the ring. Lawler says this is going to be awesome.

-We’re shown highlights from the first episode of Raw.

-Did you know that Raw has aired more episodes than Survivor, Amazing Race and American Idol COMBINED? Also, does anyone care?

-We’re shown highlights of Austin driving the Zamboni into the arena and taking out Mr. McMahon.

Match 1: Michael McGillicutty and Kofi Kingston vs Kaval and Daniel Bryan vs Alex Riley and WWE United States Champion/Mr. Money in the Bank The Miz – Triple Threat Tag Team match

Riley and Kofi and Bryan start off. Riley takes out Bryan. Kick by Kofi to Bryan. Bryan with a kick to Kofi and he slaps Miz. Bryan with forearm shots to Riley. And now kicks in the corner. SOS to Bryan by Kofi. Pin but Riley breaks it up. Sitout scoop slam to Kofi. Pin but only two. Knee lift by Bryan to Riley. Kofi gets back in control. Boom Drop to Riley. Pin but Bryan breaks it up. Kofi ducks a clothesline and both guys crossbody each other. Kaval and Michael get the tags. Michael in control. Dragon Sleeper out of a head scissors by Kaval. Riley breaks it up. Miz gets the blind tag. Kaval with a huge dropkick to Riley. Michael rolls up Kaval but only gets two. Kaval with a rolling Liger kick. He heads up to the top. Warriors Way connects. Miz runs in and hits Kaval with the Skull Crushing Finale. Forget about it.

Winners: The Miz and Alex Riley (Short but pretty entertaining. Still, the team of Bryan and Kaval was pretty random, but I’m not gonna complain. Still, this was a nice way to get the NXT guys some air time, but it could have used some more time)

Bryan takes out Riley. Miz runs in and clocks Bryan with the briefcase. Miz and Riley celebrate their win as they walk off.

-Later tonight, Bret Hart and the Undertaker will face off. Also, the 5 on 5 Tag Team Elimination match is still yet to come.

-WWE Slam of the Week, presented by Mafia 2, is Melina defeating Jillian Hall last week, only for LayCool to announce their appearance on Raw next week (which would be now).

Match 2: Co-Women’s Champions Team LayCool vs Eve Torres and Diva’s Champion Melina

Michelle and Melina start off. Forearm shots by Melina. Michelle with a belly to belly. Pin but only two. Layla gets the tag and slams Melina’s face into the mat. Layla now taunting Melina. Melina pushes Layla into Michelle. Roll up and it’s over?

Winners: Melina and Eve (Uh… whatever)

Michelle and Layla grab mics. Michelle says the victory was a lot like her. Completely forgetable. Layla says Melina’s gonna cry. They need to find out who the real champ is in the WWE. So, they’re challenging Melina to a unification match at Night of Champions. One of them will face Melina. And when they win, they unify the titles. Yay. Melina says she had a feeling they were going to propose something like that, and she came prepared. She accepts, but it’ll be a lumberjack match. LayCool agrees, and no one cares. All the Diva’s show up on the stage.

-We get highlights of the epic NXT rookie attack on Cena.

-The Nexus is in the back. Tarver says because they kicked out Young and Sheffield is injured, they’re low in numbers. Barrett says they’re going to be 5 of the biggest superstars in WWE history. They need to do something tonight unforgettable. And Barrett knows exactly what that is.

-WWE.com is looking back at the 900 episodes of Raw, if you actually care.

-We’re shown highlights from the Price is Raw.

-Matthews is in the back with Jericho. Jericho asks if when he says he’s the best in the world, do you think he says it as a gimmick. He says it because it’s true. But people don’t believe that to be the case. Chris had an epiphany. He knows he’s the greatest, and if he doesn’t win the WWE Championship at Night of Champions, that’s it. That’s the last we’ll see of him in the WWE. Do you think he’s joking? Do you wanna see how much confidence he has? He’s going to prove tonight that he’s the best in the world at what he does.

Match 3: John Morrison and R-Truth vs “Dashing” Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre – Number One Contenders match to WWE Tag Team Championship

Rhodes’ jacket has a mirror on the back of it. Tremendous. Coleslaw says this match will be a slobber knocker. Truth and Rhodes start things off. Rhodes with a kick to the gut, runs off the ropes but gets hit with a hip toss. Rhodes knocks Morrison off the apron, and Truth goes on the attack. All four guys are in the ring now and it’s madness. The ref rings the bell and this just won’t stop.

Winner: No Contest (This was pretty random and overall served no purpose)

Truth dives over the top and takes out Rhodes. Big boot by McIntyre to Morrison. Morrison slides out of a powerslam attempt and dropkicks McIntyre in the back. Truth and Morrison walk off with Truth’s music playing

-Bret Hart will face Undertaker next.

-Did You Know, Jersey Shore will reach it’s 900th episode in 2083, and Snooki will be 83 years old at that time. I’m actually more curious as to who in the fuck thought that was interesting.

-We’re shown highlights of the January 4th episode of Raw, where Shawn and Bret made amends.

Match 4: Bret Hart vs Undertaker

Both guys get ready to go, but here comes Wade Barrett. He says this match is not going to happen. People don’t want to talk about two legends, they want to talk about the future, and the future is Nexus. He said he was going to do something unforgettable. And he’s going to do that by taking out Taker. He runs in and attacks Taker. Big mistake. Big boot by Taker. Taker clotheslines him over the top. Lights out. They come back on and Kane is in the ring. Both guys trade rights now. Kane with the upper hand. Goozle by Taker, and the lights have gone back out. They’re back on, and Kane is gone. And here comes the Nexus. They surround the ring. Taker goes after Tarver and the rest of them. Taker’s in control. He goozles Barrett, but the lights have gone back out again. They turn back on, and Barrett has Taker on his shoulders. Wasteland by Barrett. Kane stands on the ramp watching on. They position Taker in the corner. Gabriel to the top. 450! Taker tries to sit up, but can’t. Kane laughs at the top of the ramp as we head to commercial.

-We get a recap of the events that just occurred.

-And here comes Jack Swagger. All hail a returning, conquering, all American hero. When he left Raw, he was an all American American. Now he returns a former world champion. He can understand why Johnny Damon wouldn’t want to come back to Boston, but he has no problem being a little swagger back to Raw. And here comes Evan Bourne.

Match 4: Jack Swagger vs Evan Bourne

Kick by Swagger, and he goes on the attack with clubbing blows. Swagger throws Bourne into the turnbuckle. Kick to the leg by Bourne, and some more. But here comes Albert Del Rio. In the limo. He’s beeping the horn like crazy. His announcer introduces him. The match is still going on though. Old school Randy Orton like pyro goes off on the stage. Swagger shoulder blocking Bourne in the corner. Bourne goes for the running powerslam, but Bourne slides out the back. Spin kick by Bourne. He heads up to the top. AIR BOURNE MISSES! Swagger chop blocks the leg. Ankle Lock applied. Bourne has no choice but to tap.

Winner: Jack Swagger (Really unncessary, but it did give Swagger a win while getting Rio some on screen air time on Raw, so it did accomplish some stuff. Still, there was literally nothing to the match other than the angle)

Alberto Del Rio introduces himself. He says next to me, the little kiwaya Rey Mysterio isn’t going to be here tonight. In fact, the only place you can see Rey is in the hospital. What he did to Rey last weekk as phenomenal. Incredible. He’s going to be honest though, he’s not completely happy. The audience from Raw didn’t see it though. So this is what he’s going to do. He’s going to recreate that magic moment, just for us. Right here, right now, but with a different kiwaya. He grabs a chair and runs into the ring. He puts Bourne in the juji gatame. Bourne starts tapping like a mad man. Rio releases the hold and kicks Bourne in the back. He brings the chair to the outside with Bourne. He locks Bourne’s arm in the chair, and here comes Mark Henry to the rescue. Rio goes to hit Henry with the chair, but Henry runs right through it. Rio runs back up the ramp.

-Coleslaw and Lawler talk about their recent tour of China. We get a video package highlighting the events.

-THIS IS YOUR LIFE!! Best segment ever.

-And we’re going to continue that awesomeness with CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society. It’s really not the same without Serena though. Punk asks if we know who he’s better than. The Rock. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke and he doesn’t make crappy movies like The Tooth Fairy. Do you people like The Rock? Do you people miss The Rock on Monday Night Raw? CM Punk doesn’t miss the Rock. It’s because The Rock epitomizes this septic tank of a show that is Monday Night Raw. 900 shows is a milestone, but for 900 shows Raw has promoted poor family values. He’s got two words for us. Katie Vick. YES! And if you don’t get it, that’s fine, but youtube it and it will drive yout to drink and then see CM Punk and he’ll save us. Punk here to show us some of the most atrocious acts by Raw superstars. Exhibit A: Property damage. We see Triple H invading Orton’s home and beating the shit out of him. People acting like animals. Exhibit B: Irresponisble and Reckless Behavior. We see Cena throwing Edge into the Long Island Sound. Punk for one would never throw another competitor into any body of water (coughChavo Guerrero). Exhibit C: Trespassing. DX invading WCW. And last but not least, Exhibit D: Dumb, excessive use of alcohol via fire hose. Yeah, I think you all know what this one is. Punk can’t find the words to describe that. He says we would all lie and empty our pockets to see Stone Cold walk down the ramp and spray CM Punk with beer via a fire hose. That’s the kind of GLASS SHATTERS MOTHERFUCKER!

But there’s no one there. Punk starts laughing on the ground. Did you fall for it? Are you dissapointed? Do you feel empty inside? Well good, because that’s how dissapointed Punk feels when he sees each and every one of us. He’s happy we’re dissapointed. And he’s going to show us one more clip and leave on a high note. This clip is from a good show, Smackdown. It’s a clip of Lesnar superplexing Big Show through the ring. Punk says he can watch that clip over and over, because it represents everything he could never be. It represents being criminally obese, he doesn’t know who the other guy was, but Big Show was so big… And here comes Show.

Punk says we get Austin’s music and no Austin but get Big Show’s music and instead get Captain Insano. Show said he lost some weight and then found it. If Show wants to embarass him, talk about something really embarasing, like Eddie Guerrero giving him that burrito that left him constipated for five days. Or the time he did the sum wrestling thing. If you really want to bring up something embarassing, video of him kissing Vickie Guerrero. Show loves to make people laugh, he does impersonations. Let Me Tell You Something Brother, They’re Running Wild Brother, StraightEdge Society DUDE!! Punk says that was boring, that was not funny and no one likes you. Ha. Show raises his hand. He says that was mean. Punk says you want mean? There is nothing high about the Straight Edge Society, and that’s what makes them better than you. Show says he’s not high but just tall. Show takes out Punk and Gallows. Punk and Matthews bail out. Show clotheslines Gallows over the top as the SES backs off. For as terrible as this Raw’s been, CM Punk just single handedly, with a little help from Big Show, saved it.

-If I see one more “Did You Know” fact, I’m gonna go crazy. STOP TELLING US IT’S THE 900TH EPISODE. WE GET IT.

-We’re shown highlights of Triple H’s return in 2002, only to be interrupted by Kurt Angle.

-Josh Matthews welcomes the WWE Champion, Sheamus. And here he comes. Sheamus interrupts Matthews. He says after 900 episodes of Raw, everyone is here to celebrate, except Triple H. He’s never coming back. How is it fair that he has to defend his title in a Six Pack at Night of Champions. We’re all just a bunch of plastic pladdies. The only real Irishman here is Sheamus. And in spite of the Six Pack Challenge, he has to tag with four of his PPV opponents. One of which is Randy Orton, a man who tried to end his career. Never in the history of Raw a champion has never been treated more poorly (coughRey Mysterio). Here comes Edge. He says Sheamus was giving him a headache fella. Since Edge debuted on Raw, he’s been thrown in the long island sound, deranged ex employees run at him through the crowd, been thrown through tables and everything, but he’s given back three times as many. He’s won 29 championships in the WWE. He’s won the Royal Rumble, KOTR, and MITB. He’s going to win the Six Pack Challenge. He’s going to become the new WWE Champion. Edge heads down to the ring. Their match will start next.

Match 5: WWE Champion Sheamus, Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and John Cena vs The Nexus (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Michael Tarver and Heath Slater) – 5 on 5 Elimination Tag Team match

Everyone makes their entrances and whatnot. This match will start after this next commercial break.

Jericho and Tarver start things off. Loud “Y2J” chant. Jericho bails out and walks to the back. The ref starts the count, and Jericho starts to second guess that decision. He goes to run back, but decides to leave anyways.

Edge is now in. He shoves the ref and gets DQ’d.

Cena’s now in. Cena throws Tarver into the corner. Bulldog connects. Big right hands by Cena, and Sheamus gets the tag. Sheamus working down Tarver in the corner. Big short arm clothesline connects. Pin but only two. Slater gets the tag but runs into a clothesline. Suplex by Sheamus. Pin but only two. Sheamus with knee lifts in the corner. Sheamus brings Slater to the outside and hits him with a elbow to the throat. Back in the ring but only gets two on the pin. Otunga gets the tag. Headlock by Otunga. Sheamus pushes him off and no one gets pushes over on the shoulder block. Otunga poses but gets clotheslined. Big kick by Otunga but he gets drilled with an Irish Hammer. Otunga whips Sheamus hard into the corner. Mounted punches by Otunga. Slater gets the tag and starts stomping Sheamus. Gabriel gets the tag. Right hands by Gabriel, and here comes Barrett. Barrett works down Sheamus and tags in Slater. Bow and arrow submission applied by Slater. Sheamus fights back up but Sltaer goes for a backslide. Sheamus flips him over and goes for the High Cross, but Tarver pulls Slater down. Running forearm smash by Slater. Sheamus starts fighting back, but Gabriel drills him with a kick on the apron. Zig Zag by Slater.

Cena’s in and immediately rushes in for the 5 moves of doom on Slater. You Can’t See Me. Five Knuckle Shuffle connects. Attitude Adjustment follows. Pin and he’s out.

On Working With Jerry Lawler: Teaming hundreds and hundreds of Monday nights with Jerry Lawler at the broadcast booth which have created lifetime memories. We were lucky that we were able to develop chemistry and allowed to be ourselves. Our team worked and we had a ball that I wouldn’t trade for any thing I’ve ever experienced in broadcasting. I often wonder how many shows that the King and I actually broadcast on Monday nights. Someone somewhere likely has a number but suffice to say it was a bunch.

On DX: DX…which helped launch HHH, re-invent HBK and made stars of Billy Gunn, Road Dog, and Chyna. Every one came along at the right place at the right time with the right presentation for their persona’s in a male friendly 18-34 demo. To me, this faction was as good as it gets and ranks in the same breath with the Horsemen.

On The Rock: The explosion of The Rock who Hollywood discovered and away the Great One went to become a major player on the silver screen. Rock’s verbal skills and ‘look’ set him a part and captivated the imagination of film makers and fans the world over. The Rock was a once in a life time athlete/personality in the mat game….a natural entertainer.

On Flair And HBK’s Goodbyes: The goodbyes….Ric Flair’s emotional good bye on Raw was the culmination of the most auspicious ‘retirement’ of any pro wrestler in history. It was a legitimately emotional night that Monday in Orlando. My tears that night at ringside were as real as they get.

HBK’s farewell…it touched me and moved me to tears again even though I was in a safe environment, my home in Norman. When Shawn mentioned me in his farewell address my eyes welled with tears. That was an amazing honor for me following WM26. (I’ve always thought that going to San Antonino to speak with Shawn about ending his 4 year or so hiatus was one of my best accomplishments in WWE.)

The New RAW GM To Be Revealed **TONIGHT** – Triple H Is Backstage!

– Darren Aronofsky recently spoke about his new film Black Swan, which he feels is something of a companion piece to The Wrestler. Here is what he had to say to MTV.com… “They are really connected and people will see the connections. It’s funny, because wrestling some consider the lowest art — if they would even call it art — and ballet some people consider the highest art. But what was amazing to me was how similar the performers in both of these worlds are. They both make incredible use of their bodies to express themselves.”

RAW **SPOILERS** – Major Name Returning Tonight – HUGE SURPRISES!!

* Vachon was actually found dead in her own temporary home, not her mother’s home. Investigators say they discovered a box containing crushed Oxycodone pills near a snorting straw. The box containing Oxycodone was beside a pile of “blue, chalky debris next to a small straw” in Luna’s kitchen.

* “Multiple prescription bottles and miscellaneous unsecured pills” were discovered in the master bedroom alongside a small plate containing more pill residue and another snorting straw.

* Vachon’s mother — the person who discovered the body — told police that her daughter “often appeared ‘medicated’ as she suffered from several wrestling injuries.”

* An autopsy has been completed and the official cause of death is expected to be determined within the next few weeks.

Following her October 2008 divorce from Kurt, Karen became romantically linked to the TNA Wrestling co-founder. The relationship was said to have started while Karen and Kurt were separated. The Dudley Boyz’ & WWE In Recent Talks – Possible WWE Return?

– ROH sent out the following announcement today… Ring of Honor Wrestling is proud to announce it will be taping six episodes of its television show, seen nationally every Monday night at 8PM and 11PM ESTon HDNet, at the Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, December 9th and Friday, December 10th. Coming on the heels of ROH’s debut live event in the Derby City on July 22nd, which sold out the 400 seat arena at 4400 Shepherdsville Road in Louisville, “ROH–TWO NIGHTS ONLY” marks the first time in the program’s 18 month run on Mark Cuban’s network that it has been taped outside the city of Philadelphia, and it’s being spread over two nights to accomodate both the number of matches that will take place, and the demand for tickets. “Seating each night is limited to 400″, said Jim Cornette, Executive Producer of ROH on HDNet, “and after the VIP tickets for the July event sold out in a few hours, we realized a two night stand was the way to go. With an event of this magnitude–literally every ROH superstar on the roster will be appearing both nights with around 30 wrestlers in all battling in at least a dozen matches on each event. This will be the first national TV taping ever from the Davis Arena, the home of Ohio Valley Wrestling since 2002. We’ll also have a number of former OVW/WWE superstars that the fans of Kentuckiana have supported for years. Fans travelled to the last event from at least half a dozen states. – MTV 2 is not showing a new episode of Lucha Libre USA “Masked Warriors” this week. MTr3s has an episode scheduled on September 5th at 2PM. Lucha Libre USA talent were told in Charlotte Saturday night that the show was going on hiatus. While the show was not going to be taped, they did end up taping the show for online distribution. The show was initially set for 52 week run on MTV 2.

– As noted late last night here on the website, a brawl broke out over a John Cena t-shirt at the WWE event in Newark, NJ last night. Here’s a brief report of the incident from Rob: At the start of the Cena vs. Sheamus cage match, when Cena threw his shirt out in to the crowd, it landed a row a head of me. A fight broke out over it and at least 10 people were thrown out and a few kids were hurt. It got really ugly and punches were thrown. I can’t believe adult women, of all people, were starting a fight over something as stupid as a shirt from Cena. This went on for a good 15-20 minutes and it took awhile before Prudential Center staff came down to break it up. I am really surprised that they took a while to get it broken up, but it made me sad that these people mostly women fighting over something like that, not to mention they had no regard that kids were in the middle and were getting hurt during it.

Michelle McCool’s SEE-THROUGH Pants – OMG!!

On there being a rule in WWE about his black hat: NO…there were never any official or unofficial ‘hat rules’ regarding my black hat as someone asked on Twitter. Austin wore my hat at WM25 in an impromptu moment which I felt was cool as hell. However, I don’t share my hat with fans who want to take their picture wearing it. I also don’t ask to borrow a stranger’s tooth brush.

On his employment status: Yes…for goodness’ sakes I am STILL employed by WWE. I’m a consultant for Talent Relations and perform various and at times random functions within that department. There are NO plans for me to return to weekly, WWE TV. NO plans. That aspect of my career with WWE is OVER. No…I am not bitter. I had a wonderful ‘run’ and to complain about it would be ridiculous. There are enough bitter, ex wrestlers out there who can provide folks that need it with plenty of ‘dirt’ and ‘poor me’ stories that I don’t need to add to the misery. Mel Gibson should provide every one their quota for bitter behavior.

On a wrestler’s union: A wrestling unions would not have solved the issues that many wrestlers have had over the years. Walk in clinics, shady doctors, hiring the wrong people, and a changing society in general would have prevailed in a battle with a wrestling union. What can be done to erase many of the perceived issues that have plagued pro wrestling in the past few generations? I wish I had a fool proof answer but when dealing with human beings there are no guarantees or answers that are always right. I do endorse zero tolerance for all banned substances. I endorse on going , through education to teach wrestlers young and old alike about the evils of drug and alcohol abuse. I endorse recruiting as high a quality of a human being and world class athlete as is possible but that too is a gamble and provides no guarantee that those individuals will remain ‘issue free’. Extensive education, constant mentoring, monitoring every athlete’s behavior as much as possible, continued random testing, and a never ending search for new solutions to stay up with new ways to cheat are some of the issues that one could consider for what is becoming a societal issue that plagues all pro sports and various forms of entertainment.

One last thing on a wrestling union…it would be almost comical to see a group of wrestlers attempt to form a union because there would likely be a bitchfest on what to order for lunch, where to have the meeting, etc not to mention who to elect as the head of the union and subsequent decision makers. An outsider would likely be needed and to find an outsider with product knowledge, although not impossible, would not be easy. Forget the wrestler’s union theory as it isn’t going to happen inmy life time at least.

On whether more boxers would come to the UFC: “I thought we answered this question in 1993, but James came out and he picked a fight. We answered the question again in 2010. I don’t think it needs to be answered again. I don’t care if it’s (Floyd) Mayweather or anybody else.”

On why he’s done with boxers: “It’s unfair to bring a guy in with one discipline, no matter if he’s trained for eight or nine months. As we got closer to the fight, my stomach hurt, and I was a little dizzy. I was nervous. Mixed martial arts stepped in there against a boxer, but at the end of the day, it’s a fight. Anything can happen in a fight.”

On why he was nervous: “What was I nervous about? That I’d have to deal with James Toney for the next year. It’s been a fun ride with James. It’s been very interesting. He’s a nutty guy. I was nervous for that fight.”

On respecting James Toney: “He’s a tough guy, and he’s been around for a long time, and I love him. I have a lot of respect for James Toney. When you come in with one discipline, you can’t expect the guy to come in and have great ground work. You know what? He stepped up. He wanted to do it, and he did it. He hung in there longer than I thought he would. I’m sure he was as prepared as he could be. Anybody that knows James Toney over the past few years knows that James isn’t the most physically fit boxer on the planet. But let me tell you what, when I signed him in my office, he’s lost a lot of weight since that day. He took it serious, he went out there, and he gave it a shot.”

Of his movie roles, Cena says “I play a superhuman on WWE television and I played damn near a superhuman in 12 Rounds and The Marine.”

– Rosa Mendes may be getting a bit of a push after Tiffany’s recent suspension with WWE. Rosa is booked to work with Kelly Kelly against Michelle McCool & Layla at upcoming WWE events.

– Lita attended a Toronto indy event last night, accompanied by Trish Stratus. The event was headlined by El Hijo Del Santo. She said she plans to open a lucha libre-themed restaurant in the Atlanta area and has a couple of business projects on the horizon. Her bund The LuchaGores is on hiatus right now. She mentioned that she was in town visiting Trish to discuss some upcoming business projects.

– A recent poll on the New England Sports Network asked fans which event they were most excited to see at the TD Garden. UFC 118 was the top vote-getter at 46%, with RAW 900 at 36%, the circus at 9% and Justin Bieber at 8%.

– Shawn Michaels Tweeted the following regarding Monday’s RAW 900: no I won’t b there. I have business elsewhere that day & Tue. sorry. He also mentioned that he had turned down two movie roles, saying he would rather be silly than serious.

There was talk at yesterday’s Lucha Libre USA Masked Warriors taping in Charlotte that the show had been cancelled. Wrestlers at the event were told that it would just be a house show. However the show was in fact taped for online streaming, and for now the MTV2 show is “on hiatus” and not cancelled.

The show drew around 1,000 fans. David and Reid Flair wrestled as a team at the show, with Reid making Tinieblas Jr. tap out to the figure four. Ric Flair was at the show but left before the taping began.

Former TNA talent Petey Williams debuted on the show.
