Last night’s edition of TNA iMPACT! scored a 1.1 rating, down from last week’s 1.3.

Last night’s edition of WWE Superstars scored a 0.8 rating.

The replay later in the evening scored a 0.2 rating.

Hulk Hogan was on Bubba the Love Sponge today, and stated that he will be booking TNA and that he will oversee changes in the company. He also said that his contract says nothing about wrestling, and that he will be running the show. Hogan then said that he would be giving Vince Russo another chance, and that TNA is spending big money now.

Later today at Book Soup in Los Angeles, Hulk Hogan will sign copies of his new autobiography.

TNA will be running an Ultimate X Match on the January 30th Wembley Arena show. This is the first time that Ultimate X will be used at a non-televised event.

The 2009 TNA Bound For Glory DVD will be a 2 DVD set.

TNA’s No Surrender PPV will be released on DVD November 10th.

The man who Chris Jericho used racial and homophobic slurs against at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival told TMZ that Jericho was an “asshole” and that Jericho’s apology was “crap.”

Mr. Lobo, the host of the film festival, said he was deeply offended by the insensitive remarks, saying that Jericho’s claim that “everyone on stage was having a blast” was false.

“I don’t think [Chris] has the capacity to give an honest apology,” he said. “I don’t think it’s in his character.”

Rumored Names For The WWE Hall Of Fame Class Of 2010

With WrestleMania 26 already less than four months away, we’re already starting to hear some talk regarding who is being considered for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010.

Names that keep coming up lately for the Class of 2010 include Ted DiBiase, the Road Warriors, Demolition, Ron Simmons and Slick.

Other names that are being discussed but are a little less likely are Ultimate Warrior, Lex Luger and The Honky Tonk Man.

Out of all these names, Ted DiBiase is considered to be the most likely possibility.

Former WWE Diva Set To Star In XXX Rated Porn Film

Adult film distributor Shane’s World is set to release a “hardcore” sex tape featuring former WWE developmental women’s wrestler Catalina White later this month.

World Wrestling Entertainment signed White out of the modeling world last year and she soon began competing under the name “Saylor James” in the company’s developmental promotion, Florida Championship Wrestling. However, her time under contract to WWE proved to be short-lived as she was quietly released from her developmental contract in January — mere months after her wrestling debut.

Shane’s World to release hardcore sex tape on WWE wrestler

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Shane’s World is preparing to release a hardcore sex tape featuring Maxim model Catalina White. She is the star of the company’s Nov. 17 release of Model Amateur Tour.

White has been featured in the pages of mainstream magazines and sites like Maxim, Complex, COED, Strobe and Mixed. She has also performed for World Wrestling Entertainment under the ring moniker of “Saylor James.”

“Unlike a lot of the other celebrity sex tapes, Catalina’s scene really delivers,” said Andrew S., CEO of Shane’s World. “She isn’t shy or reluctant, she is really into performing for the camera, and she has great chemistry with her partner. She’s a famous model, a WWE wrestler and an up-and-coming recording artist. She actually has talent, and her performance in this scene shows us some other amazing talents she possesses that her fans have never seen before, and will probably never see again.”

In addition to White, Model Amateur Tour also features Jenna Haze as a “special guest presenter.” Haze introduces the other aspiring models in the movie – Kari Leigh, Bridgett and Kaylee, each of which sent in their own amateur sex tapes. “We had a contest for amatuers to send in their homemade movies, and these girls were hands down the hottest,” said Shane’s World VP of Operations Valerie See. “We got hundreds of submissions but only these lucky few made the cut. Combined with the Catalina White scene, this is a tremendous movie that we’re really excited to bring to all the retailers and fans out there.”

The TNA Talent Meeting On iMPACT!, WWE PPV Updates, & More

The TNA talent meeting, held by Dixie Carter at the start of iMPACT! was a legit talent meeting held by Carter at the tapings. The comments were not scripted, and were totally Carter’s feelings. Carter was addressing changes in the company, as the recent changes have led to frustrations among the talent. Some feel that this was Carter’s way of putting out fires. It was used on TV as a way to build the Hulk Hogan angle.

As noted earlier here on the website, a WWE memo sent out to various Pay-Per-View providers reveals that World Wrestling Entertainment will be eliminating one of its June PPV events in 2010, bringing the annual total down to 13. While this does seem like a step in the right direction, WWE will be making up for that lost PPV revenue by increasing the suggested retail price of its other PPV events (excluding WrestleMania), by $5.00, to $44.95. According to the memo, this will be the first price increase for non-WrestleMania events since 2006. The suggested retail price for WrestleMania will remain $54.95.

WWE Issued a following press release today announcing that comedian Dennis Miller will host a special 3-hour edition of WWE Raw on December 14th.

The 3-hour broadcast will take place from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX and will feature the 2009 WWE Slammy Awards.

2009 Slammy Award categories will include: WWE Superstar of the Year, WWE Match of the Year, and WWE Diva of the Year.

For those of you that missed the WrestleMania 26 pre-sale, tickets go on sale for the general public tomorrow, starting at 10AM MST. Tickets can be bought through the University Of Phoenix Stadium box office and Ticketmaster.com.

Some cable providers, such as Comcast OnDemand in Montgomery County, Maryland will not be showing the Dragon Gate USA PPV tonight, due to boxing.

Dragon Gate USA will invade Phoenix, AZ for a double shot on Wrestlemania weekend. The DGUSA events will be Friday, March 26th and Saturday, March 27th. Belltime for both cards is 8pm. WWE Increasing The Price Of Their PPV Events – Details

According to a memo sent out to people in the cable industry, WWE is planning to raise the price of their non-WrestleMania PPVs. The increase will be a $5.00 increase to $44.95. Also in the memo is the confirmation that the will be dropping one of the June PPVs, and scaling back to 13 PPVs a year.

The PPV price increase will begin with the 2010 Royal Rumble.

On The PPV Business: PPV business….it is and always has been attraction driven. It also is affected by the disposable income folks have for an expendable entity. For example, we don’t HAVE to watch every PPV on TV but we HAVE to have housing and food. PPV’s coming at us fans with such frequency is challenging to process, prioritize and to afford. However, with the PPV business being such a vital part of any wrestling organization’s bottom line, I would be surprised to see the number of PPV’s decrease. So, it will come back to providing the consumer with what they are willing to and can purchase which will always be attraction driven fueled by button pushing creative which is no exact science.

On Jeff Hardy’s Legal Issues: I see the continuance of the Jeff Hardy legal issue as positive news for Jeff. I’m not an attorney nor do I play one on TV but one can make an argument that if the authorities thought that they had an overwhelmingly strong case that they would not be interested in postponing the proceedings. I strongly feel that Jeff Hardy is NOT a drug trafficker whatsoever and that he will be vindicated. I am also not unbiased in this matter as I am a Jeff Hardy fan and have been since signing Matt and Jeff to their first WWE contracts.

On Edge’s Recovery: I think Edge being 100% by Wrestlemania 26 is going to be a photo finish and I hope that I am wrong on that assumption. Edge had taken his game to another level prior to his injury and he will no doubt return to the ring fresher and ready to turn more heads if he makes sure that he is totally healthy. Torn Achilles obviously cannot be taken lightly. Edge would arguably need to be close to ready by January to really be able to capitalize on the promotional, TV build up for Phoenix or at least that’s one school of thought.

On Jack Swagger: Interesting to read where Jack Swagger wrestled John Cena this week in Dublin. Swagger vs. Cena is new and fresh and it also is a good for the young Okie to hunt with the big dogs. I applaud the pairing of these two former college athletes.

Piper-RAW Guest Host Update, Rourke Wants To Wrestle For WWE

– WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper is expected to host Monday Night Raw when it emanates from Madison Square Garden later this month.

– ECW wrestler The Hurricane is working the Raw brand’s ongoing tour of Europe.

– According to a report today by The Sun, Mickey Rourke says he would like to wrestle for World Wrestling Entertainment after being disallowed from competing at WrestleMania XXV earlier this year. The Academy Award-nominated actor says in his new book, Wrestling With Demons, that a clause in his contract for the Iron Man 2 prevented him from taking part in a one-on-one match with Chris Jericho due to the possibility of injury, which would delay filming. Rourke says he walked away from WrestleMania “disappointed” due to his limited involvement with the event, which saw him punch Jericho following the WWE star’s handicap elimination match with Hall of Famers “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka. Rourke says he wanted to put his wrestling skills to the test after training for the lead role in The Wrestler.

Shane McMahon/WWE Backstage Reaction Update, Maryse’s Return

Regarding discussion of Shane McMahon parting ways with World Wrestling Entertainment, his looming departure from the company has become the new “Randy Savage talk” backstage as we noted earlier. By that, it means it’s a touchy subject to be broached with Vince McMahon at one’s own peril. As you would imagine, the WWE chairman is none to pleased with his son’s recent resignation. Vince formally addressed Shane’s departure from the company during this morning’s conference call with investors. He said of Shane’s decision to leave: “Shane has decided to pursue other opportunities in the marketplace.” He also added that the strength of the company’s management team is based on performance, not if an employee’s last name is McMahon. “Some people perceive this to be a family business, but I do not,” said Vince.

Beginning tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m., fans will have the opportunity to meet WWE Diva Maryse at The RoomStore located at 3539 West Northern Avenue at 35th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. For those wondering, Maryse is ready to return and should be back by Survivor Series.

On December 20th, WWE will be taping Smackdown in Orlando, Florida, this is a Sunday and they are taping early for the holidays. This is also the same day as the TNA Final Resolution PPV. The shows will take place roughly 15-minutes apart.

Former Raw hosts Kyle Busch & Joey Logano will be racing in their WWE card this weekend. On Friday, SPEED is airing the practice runs at 10AM, and then the qualifying at 6:30PM. On Saturday, the race airs on ESPN 2 at noon. Jerry Lawler will give the command to start engines, while R-Truth and Bella Twins will be guests of Kyle and Joey’s teams.

The WWE website has added a profile on ring announcer Lauren Mayhew to its ECW section.

Michelle McCool was on Smarter Then a 5th grader. McCool fell back to $2,500 twice on the show. In the final question she had $12,000 going in. McCool went for the final question for $125,000 if she got it wrong she would fall down to $2,500. The question was “What Animal is featured on the great seal of the United States? McCool answered “The Great Seal”. The correct answer was The Bald Eagle. The show donated $2500 to the Make A Wish Foundation for her.

Shane McMahon’s departure is not a subject to be discussed backstage in WWE right now. Vince is not happy at all about Shane leaving, and essentially, Shane’s leaving is taboo discussion, similar to talking about Randy Savage.

In a first, tonight’s edition of iMPACT! will air footage of a talent meeting TNA president Dixie Carter held prior to the show. Regarding this, she posted the following note on her Twitter account: “Met with talent before show. Preparing the troops for battle. 1st talent mtg w/cameras allowed. Look for footage at start of show tonight.”

Last week’s episode of TNA iMPACT! scored a 1.3 cable rating, with an average audience of 1.7 million viewers. iMPACT! was ranked second in the Males 18-49 demographic among basic cable networks, with a 1.10 in that particular demo — the program’s highest figure since April of this year. Despite the heavy hype, footage of Hulk Hogan’s press conference announcing he was joining TNA was the lowest rated segment of the show. Nonetheless, the show garnered it’s largest average audience since July. Here is a complete breakdown of the quarter-hour ratings:

Gay & Lesbian Organization Calls Chris Jericho’s Apology Insincere

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is effectively rejecting what they call Chris Jericho’s “insincere and worn” apology for using anti-gay and racist slurs at a recent film festival. GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios issued the following statement to TMZ.com this afternoon: “Just three months ago Chris Jericho’s boss and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon acknowledged to GLAAD that words matter. There is no time, context or occasion in which it is acceptable to utter racist and anti-gay slurs. Jericho’s hollow apology ‘if (he) offended anyone’ is a template used by many and is insincere and worn.”

» Samoa Joe was “fuming mad” in regards to a situation where he was trying to setup a friends business to do some sort of catering or barbeque for the TNA Bound For Glory PPV a few weeks ago in Irvine, CA. It appears the deal didn’t go through with TNA and he was described as being very upset about it. I mean wrestling is a highly political game so you have to wonder what are these sources agendas? WWE 3rd Quarter Conference Call Report – Lots Of News

The call started at 11:02AM.

VP Michael White kicks off the call. Vince is in attendance as well. He mentions the info released this morning, which I have linked above. They will discuss the quarter, and discuss forward-looking statements.

Vince joins us, and says they had a good quarter. He discusses attendance, and says that the whole package of going to a live event can be expensive. Average attendance is up 9%. He claims that ratings are up 23% in the quarter as compared to last year.

Vince says film is a natural extension of the business, and that they have changed their philosophy to smaller budgets and direct to DVD releases.

He jokes about voting for Linda, and says that he has resumed her responsibilities. Also, he mentions Shane leaving the company, but puts over that their management team is stronger than ever.

George Barios joins the call, and discusses the revenue growing, but that PPV struggled in the quarter.

Live events and merchandise were strong in the quarter, both domestically and internationally. Ticket prices dropped both internationally and domestically.

Domestic PPV buys are down, but international PV buys have grown, partly due to a smaller price. The Hell in a Cell PPV looks to have done 11% higher than the same PPV slot last year. Pay-Per-View revenues were $14.5 million as compared to $16.4 million in the prior year quarter reflecting a 10% decline in total pay-per-view buys and a higher percentage of international buys, which are generally lower in price. For the comparable pay-per-view events which occurred in both the current and prior year periods, pay-per-view buys declined 22% in the quarter and 9% on a year-to-date basis.

Toys and video game sales are down, especially internationally.

Right now they are repeating the same numbers, which I have already posted here.

They have continued to work on cutting the costs by $20 million, and should realize that by the end of quarter #4. They are running with good cash in hand still, with virtually no debt.

They are targeting a growth of 15-20% over the next two years. Global TV rights and increased licensing will be a big part of this.

The film distribution will be more effective with lower budgets and a straight to DVD model, which should create more profit from WWE Films.

They are still looking into a “WWE network”, which would be a venue for their tape library and films.

Questions begin. The first question is about increased attendance. They say that the lowered ticket prices have helped, especially in the current economic climate. When asked about PPV prices internationally as opposed to the US is that they go by a country-by-country basis to create the most effective pricing. They say that Mexico has been very good to them as far as TV and PPV goes.

The partnership with the Army National Guard has been beneficial for both sides.

The next question is about the old footage, and why it is not being utilized in more DVD releases and classics on demand. Donna Goldsmith says that they do use a lot of it. She again mentions the WWE network, and that if and when it gets rolling, they would utilize more of that footage.

They are asked about removing PPVs from the schedule, and it is stated that they will look into adding and subtracting shows in a show by show basis.

In the latest edition of The Monster Blog, Abyss gives his take on Hulk Hogan joining TNA, the Michael Jackson concert film This Is It, “Balloon Boy,” Mick Foley and more. Regarding “The Hulkster,” Abyss wrote: “Hulk Hogan is coming to TNA!!!!! I can’t believe it. I grew up watching the Hulkster. My entire life has been spent watching the man that put wrestling on the map. That man is Hulk Hogan. There were times when I was a child, and even later on in life when I experienced jail time, mental issues, and psychotherapy that I spent countless hours watching the Hulkster. He helped me get through those tough times. His addition to TNA is a monumental and exciting addition to an already great wrestling company! I’m so excited about the great things that lie ahead for TNA!!!”

On Monday, November 19th, TNA has a charity event at the Wildhorse Saloon to benefit The Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee.

The Latest Update On Jeff Hardy’s Court Date Yesterday

According to The Fayetteville Observer, Jeff Hardy’s probable cause hearing yesterday was continued to Wednesday December 2nd. Hardy was not at the hearing, but his lawyer, Jeff Van Camp, told the Observer that Hardy was going to appear, but that he didn’t due to drug test results from a lab not coming in. If the determination is made that Jeff likely committed the crimes, the case would then move to the Grand Jury, where they will review the evidence and make a decision on whether or not to indict Hardy. Here are the charges he faces:

* Felony possession of cocaine.
* Felony drug trafficking of opium
* Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug (two counts).
* Maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution.
* Possession of drug paraphernalia. (misdemeanor)

If Jeff gets indicted, the case will move to Superior Court to be tried. This is unless he makes a plea bargain with the prosecution.

Update On The Future Of The WWE & TNA Video Games

In a conference call last night, THQ CEO Brian Farrell stated that plans are underway to continue building the WWE franchise through 2014.

Here is the latest on the TNA video game situation. When Midway filed for bankruptcy, the game was lost in the shuffle, as Warner Bros. did not pick up the game when they acquired Midway. Sources in TNA say that they are perusing the game, and that the right to the game may bounce back to TNA since Warner Bros. did not purchase them. If that is the case, TNA would then have a game in hand so to speak to hand over to a potential distributor. TNA’s Steven Godfrey said that the company had no comment on the situation.

Regarding Jim Ross’ health condition, there is nothing new on that front other than a waiting game. Medical personnel have been unable to find anything wrong with him to explain his condition other than the Bell’s Palsy he has gotten in the past, but as to why he got it, it remains a mystery. Presently, he is waiting for the nerves in his face to regenerate and start working. However, there is no estimate on when that would be, or when he can return to work.

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced its 3rd Quarter 2009 financial results. You can read read the full report at Shareholder.com. The report is chock full of financial news that we’ll be covering here throughout the day, but here’s some data on WWE’s pay-per-view buyrates from the third quarter: * WWE Summerslam 2009 drew 369,000 PPV buys, down from 477,000 in 2008. * WWE Breaking Point reported 169,000 buys. Last year’s Unforgiven PPV, which Breaking Point replaced this year, did 211,000 buys. * WWE Night of Champions reported 267,000 buys. Overall, WWE made $14.5 million in PPV revenue during this year’s third quarter, down 10% from Q3 2008.

In an interview with www.ring-rap.com, WWE Divas Champion Melina gives her take on a slew topics including her favorite person to wrestle, past issues with fellow WWE Divas, whether she prefers being a face or heel, her trademark ring entrance, how long she plans to continue wrestling, favorite male wrestler, and much more.

Here are some of the highlights of the interview:

Her favorite male wrestler: “There is so much great talent in WWE. I have always been inspired by greats like Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerro, & Christian Cage! They have all been major contributors to my WWE success. Chris Jericho is probably my favorite being that he can really “wrestle.” People see wrestling as just DDT’s and top rope moves, so it’s always great when you actually see those things along with incorporating natural wrestling ability!”

Who she sees as the greatest Diva in the business today: “Wow! All the divas are great. I am very fond of working with Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, and Trish Stratus. I do see Alicia Fox becoming so much more talented and helping carry on the divas division.”

Her favorite person to wrestle: “I have never had better wrestling matches than I have had with Mickie James. We have a lot of history and definetly showcased one of the greatest feuds ever.”

Whether she prefers playing a face or heel: “Well I am amazing at anything that I try but I think my heel character was very fun. It gave me a chance to be the “mean girl” without being slutty like all the past heel divas. My heel character let me use all attitude as well as show my humor by doing things like making faces and making fun of the other divas.”

Her trademark ring entrance: “My entrance is historic and I know that for a fact. It’s always exciting to do my entrance and get the crowds reaction! They all love it. It helps define me. My split entrance has been with me since the beginning of my career.”

If she’s had past issues with fellow Divas: “I have had a lot of issues with several divas. I don’t want to mention any names but I see it as jealousy! They can’t stand that I work hard and earn everything I get rather than take shortcuts.”

When she plans on retiring: “I do not have any recent plans on retiring! I plan on being in WWE until I don’t feel passion when I walk to that WWE ring! Then I will retire gracefully rather than stay and look unprofessional at something I’m not happy with anymore.”

Chris Jericho Apologizes For Making Homophobic & Racist Remarks

Chris Jericho is apologizing for some recent comments he made at a film festival that many would consider to be racist and homophobic.

Jericho took part in a “Q&A” session at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival a few weeks ago following the screening of his movie, Albino Farm. Jericho referred to the session moderator as “Hadji”, a racial slur used against Middle Easterners. After the host jokingly checked Jericho’s drink for alcohol, the WWE Superstar used a gay slur towards him.

Jericho has since apologized and told TMZ.com, “After seeing the video I realize some inappropriate comments were made and I apologize if I offended anybody. Just know that everyone on stage was having a blast and we all shared a drink and a laugh after! The good news is I got my wish of being posted on TMZ.”

For next week’s Smackdown from Sheffield, Great Britain, John Morrison will defend the IC Title against Dolph Ziggler.

WWE is looking into releasing more Blu-Ray DVDs in 2010. The main concern is how older footage will look once converted to the format.

On November 11th, Dinner Impossible on the Food Network will have a WWE themed show, featuring Jim Ross, The Miz and others. Here is the episode description: WWE: A Mission on the Mat Robert is taken to the mat as he joins up with some of World Wrestling Entertainment Superstars at Summer Slam, WWE’s biggest summertime event. Stephanie McMahon gives Robert his mission to feed 300 WWE VIPs a “Superstar” meal in just nine hours, this means every dish he creates must be based on some of WWE’s Superstars’ signature moves such as Frog Splash, Clawhold, and Knife Edge Chop. Stephanie is center ring joined by her seven foot tall, 400 pound “enforcer”, Big Show, who’s there to make sure Robert knows that failure is not an option!

As noted earlier, management again informed performers to limit their “Twitter” usage while on tour, especially after midnight. Chris Jericho posted the following on Twitter last night: “Hey you ever wonder…wait am I gonna get in trouble?”

WWE Announces Third Quarter Financial Results Inside

WWE released their third quarter financials today, here are the details:

Revenues totaled $111.3 million as compared to $108.8 million in the prior year quarter. Operating income was $14.5 million as compared to $7.9 million in the prior year quarter. Net income was $8.9 million, or $0.12 per share, as compared to $5.3 million, or $0.07 per share, in the prior year quarter.

Pay-Per-View revenues were $14.5 million as compared to $16.4 million in the prior year quarter reflecting a 10% decline in total pay-per-view buys and a higher percentage of international buys, which are generally lower in price. For the comparable pay-per-view events which occurred in both the current and prior year periods, pay-per-view buys declined 22% in the quarter and 9% on a year-to-date basis.

Summerslam did 369,000 PPV buys, down from 477,000 in 2008. Breaking Point, replacing Unforgiven, did 169,000 buys, down from Unforgiven’s 211,000 in 2008. Night of Champions did 267,000 buys.

WWE.com revenues were $4.5 million as compared to $4.0 million in the prior year quarter, reflecting increased sales of online advertising and expanded licensing of our website for international markets.

WWEShop revenues were $2.9 million as compared to $3.9 million in the prior year quarter. The number of orders declined by 21% to approximately 55,000 and the average revenue per order decreased by approximately 8% to $50.46 from the prior year quarter.

Television Rights Fees revenues were $28.3 million as compared to $24.4 million in the prior year quarter. This increase was primarily due to fees received from our new WWE Superstars television show and contractual increases from our existing programs.

Revenues from the Live and Televised Entertainment businesses were $77.9 million for the current quarter as compared to $68.7 million in the prior year quarter, representing a 13% increase.

Live Event revenues were $27.2 million as compared to $20.3 million in the prior year quarter. Revenues increased 34% primarily due to higher average attendance and an increase in the number of international events.

North American events generated $16.6 million of revenues from 77 events as compared to $15.5 million from 77 events in the prior year quarter. North American average attendance increased 9% to approximately 5,800 from 5,300 in the prior year quarter. The average ticket price for North American events was $36.26 in the current quarter as compared to $38.21 in the prior year quarter.

International events generated approximately $10.6 million of revenues as compared to $4.8 million in the prior year quarter. The quarter-over-quarter increase reflected five additional events in the current quarter and a 38% increase in average attendance to approximately 9,100 fans. These factors were partially offset by a 19% reduction in average ticket prices to $65.59, in part due to changes in foreign exchange rates.

WWE Studios recorded revenue of $3.0 million related to four previously released films, including Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia as compared to $5.6 million in the prior year quarter related to See No Evil, The Marine, and The Condemned. In the prior year quarter, WWE recorded a $1.9 million charge related to revised expectations for our film See No Evil. During the first quarter of 2009, we released our fourth feature film, 12 Rounds, as well as a Direct-to-DVD film, Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia. 12 Rounds generated approximately $12.2 million in gross domestic box office receipts and was released on DVD on June 30, 2009.

Home Video net revenues were $11.2 million as compared to $11.0 million in the prior year quarter. The increase reflects the performance of our new releases and catalog titles.

Licensing revenues were $7.9 million as compared to $10.6 million in the prior year quarter. The decrease primarily reflects the reduction in royalties earned on the sales of toys and videogames, particularly in international markets.

Magazine publishing net revenues were $3.4 million as compared to $4.7 million in the prior year quarter. The decrease primarily reflects a reduction in subscription revenue and the publication of one fewer issue of WWE Magazine in the current quarter.

Kevin Nash Suspension Statement, Hogan To Turn TNA Upside Down?

Kevin Nash issued the following statement on his Facebook, regarding his suspension from TNA, due to comments he made to the live crowd after Chris Sabin was injured at a recent set of iMPACT! tapings: “Thought I would clear up some internet bullsh**. The reason I did not receive a letter from T.N.A was because this matter was discussed between President Dixie Carter and myself. I promise you it cost me money not a paid vacation at my beach home. I understand Dixie’s reason for the action she has taken but stand by my reaction to what at the time appeared a serious neck injury to [Sabin].”

At his book signing in Lake Forest Park, WA yesterday, Hulk Hogan told fans who showed up to make sure they start watching Impact because he was going to head in, bring in his guys, and turn the place upside down.

Play.tm is reporting that THQ will be extending their license to produce the WWE video games through 2014.

In an interview with TheSun.co.uk, WWE Raw star Kofi Kingston was asked in a UK Sun interview says he was one of the last people to find out that he’d be feuding with Randy Orton. “This whole development has been pretty recent, I still don’t know what’s in store, except that there’ll be some high-quality matches. You pick a fight with Randy Orton, you have to step up to the plate. I’m going to step up and try to hit a home run.” When asked about dropping the Jamaican gimmick, Kingston said WWE legends like Steve Austin, The Rock and Triple H all had gimmicks before they broke out. “I think this is about me making a transition, a progression to the next level.” Kingston also spoke about his dream opponent “There’s a few, but growing up, Shawn Michaels was a big influence on why I watched wrestling and why I got into wrestling … It would bring my career full circle, because he got me into wrestling, and now here I am pursuing my lifelong dream.”

This Weeks ECW Rating Is In, TNA Ratings & Attendance Figures

Last night’s edition of ECW on SyFy scored a 1.0 cable rating.

The 10/30 TNA house show in Rio Rancho, New Mexico drew 600 fans. The 10/31 TNA show in Loveland, Colorado drew a reported 500 fans.

Here is a breakdown for the latest WWE and TNA television ratings courtesy of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

TNA iMPACT! on 10/29 drew a final 1.3 cable rating (rounded up from a 1.25) with 1.7 million viewers. While this was a very strong number going up against the World Series, there was some disappointment with the quarter hours. Quarter hours were 1.21, 1.27, 1.26, 1.30, 1.24, 1.19, 1.24 and 1.18 (which was the Hogan press conference segment and the lowest on the entire show). The show did a 1.06 in males 18-34 and 1.14 in males 35-49.

WWE Superstars on 10/29 drew a final 0.9 cable rating.

ECW on SyFy on 10/27 drew a final 1.0 cable rating with 1.34 million viewers.

WWE Monday Night Raw on 10/26 drew a final 3.7 cable rating (rounded up from a 3.68) with 5.45 million viewers. The show did a 3.03 in males 18-49. 65% of the audience was male with the average viewer being 37.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown on 10/16 drew a final 1.9 broadcast rating with 3.29 million viewers.

– WWE diva Maria Kanellis, rock star Bret Michaels and Sharon Osbourne were shooting footage this week for Celebrity Apprentice at 24 Hour Fitness on 225 5th in New York City. They set up some work out classes in return for charity donations for the show.

– TNA President Dixie Carter made the following comments on Hulk Hogan and Shannon Moore on her Twitter page: Spoke to Hogan who is burning up the road on his book tour. He said, “the TNA response is on fire!” and OK OK. Told Shannon Moore I heard you guys and to call off his fans’ tweet campaign to me. I doubt Shannon’s TNA days are over.

– In attendance notes, the 10/30 live event in Rio Rancho, New Mexico drew 600 fans while the 10/31 show in Loveland, Colorado drew 500.

– While during promotional work in France, Edge stated that just starting in physical therapy and hopes to return for Wrestlemania.

– Regarding Lacey Von Erich, many within TNA feel she has zero locker room etiquette and is not respectful, on top of being “horrible in the ring.” The feeling is she won’t even last six months in the company. In another circumstance she has he co-workers scratching their heads over, she’s the only person backstage that stays in her wrestling gear all day at television tapings. ROH tapes TV on Thursday and Friday in Philadelphia this week.

Jim Cornette will be at both sets of tapings. He will be the “ROH Executive Producer”.

According to ROHWrestling.com, Katsuhiko Nakajima will take the place of KENTA in his originally scheduled matches. That means that he will face Kenny Omega on Friday night November 13th in Novi, Michigan and then on Saturday November 14th, in Mississauga, Ontario, he will face former World Tag Team Champion El Generico.

Scheduled for Thursday: ROH champ Austin Aries defending his title, Colt Cabana vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Tyler Black vs. Sonjay Dutt and Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen & El Generico plus ROH Tag Team Champion Davey Richards, Chris Hero, Roderick Strong, Kenny Omega, Joey Ryan, Steve Corino, Kenny King, Rhett Titus, Delirious, Daizee Haze, Necro Butcher, Erick Stevens and Sara Del Rey.

Highspots.com issued the following statement on the Ric Flair-Highspots NWA Title drama: It has been accurately reported that, Highspots is one of two companies that Ric Flair pledged his NWA belt to for outstanding amounts owed. To ensure that the eventual buyer has no potential issues, Highspots has continued to work with the other holder of the lien on the title belt at issue. After speaking with our counsel, Combraco, Inc. has informed us that they decided to give Mr. Flair an additional six months in which to repay the more than $300,000 that he owes to them. While we are disappointed by the delay, we respect the legal process and continue to work to resolve the issues with Mr. Flair’s other creditors to protect the interest of our customers. In the unlikely event Mr. Flair pays these funds owed, we will be the only remaining lien holder on the belt and will place it back for sale. If he does not, we anticipate working with Combraco after the period ends to reach a final agreement to facilitate the sale. Again, we are sorry for the delay, but Highspots is a long standing and respected company that values its integrity and respect for the legal process. We will continue to hold the belt and will update the situation and contact all individuals who submitted bids again this spring.

On DX’s Raw Commentary: DX’s commentary on the main event was entertaining. For a former Raw announcer, their remarks were amusing. At least it was a change of pace and was a new element added to the presentation.

On Kofi Kingston: Good to see Kofi Kingston, who’s now from his original homeland, continue to get his at bats. Kofi and Orton represent in ring youth which is a really good thing on which to build. Kofi’s next few months of TV exposure will be crucial in his development as fans seem to be curious as far Kofi can go. I happen to feel that Kofi has a distinctive upside. However, too many stubbed toes or false starts seem to be the kiss of death with many of today’s fans.

On Sheamus: The continued evolution of Sheamus, the big Irish guy with no last name, is something that I’m enjoying. Hopefully, this build will be consistent and not rushed as it is obvious to me that Sheamus, the big Irish guy with no last name, has marketable potential. I like his size, physicality, and obvious toughness and he also has a strong work ethic and desire to not just be a player to be be a main event player. Sheamus is one of the most intriguing personas in WWE right now for my money. Can you imagine how fast Sheamus would progress if he were managed by a red hot, mouthpiece who was relevant in today’s marketplace?

On Chris Jericho And The Big Show: Until the duo of Jericho and Big Show lowered the boom on the heroes Monday night, Raw felt like a somewhat, light hearted broadcast which isn’t an indictment. I never felt any serious “fan angst” watching the show until the last few in ring minutes. For a PG rated TV show, this feedback isn’t unusual or negative. It’s simply what it is.

Jeff Hardy’s Court Date Today – Details Inside

Jeff Hardy is scheduled to return to court today for a probable cause hearing at the Moore County Criminal District Court in Carthage, North Carolina. This is due to Hardy’s arrest in September on a number of drug related charges. Today’s hearing will determine if there has been a crime committed, and if Jeff Hardy as the defendant likely committed these crimes. If the determination is made that Jeff likely committed the crimes, the case would then move to the Grand Jury, where they will review the evidence and make a decision on whether or not to indict Hardy. Here are the charges he faces:

If Jeff gets indicted, the case will move to Superior Court to be tried. This is unless he makes a plea bargain with the prosecution.

Sheamus moving to RAW was actually planned two months back, but it turned in to a back and forth converation before the decision was finally made last week to go ahead with the move.

ESPN.com referenced Knucklehead, WWE’s new film starring Big Show, as an MMA-themed movie, though that appears to be incorrect.

Former WWE star Brian Kendrick vs. BxB Hulk has been added to the first round of the 11/28 Dragon Gate USA Championship Tournament. The show is scheduled for the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
