I was just watching the Cubs-Brewers game, he has homered twice (again) already this game. This guy is the fucking man. His stats, as of today

.394, 22 HR, 64 RBI, 1.211 OPS

Do you think he will win the triple crown? Will he hit .400? Will he win the MVP?

I see him finishing about .355-44-110. I think he will win the batting title but I don't see him winning HR or RBI, especially not RBI. Pujols will proably take RBI due to the fact that the Cardinals get men on base before him, and the Cubs suck. I don't think he will get the triple crown but will probably win MVP.

I think he can win the HR title mainly because all of the HR leaders in the NL now except Dunn and Pujols aren't homerun hitters and Dunn will fall off the face of the earth eventually so it's basically a 2 man race.

Damn, I haven't paid much attention to the NL, I didn't realize Andrew Jones homered a lot.

Anyway, wow he is at 395 right now? He is the man, I was so surprised when the Marlins traded him for Hee Seop Shit, he's a guy I would root for to get the triple crown.

Yeah I don't think he will win the RBI race but he's got the average on lock, probably HR too. I dunno if he will win the MVP. I think a lot will depend on how the Cubs finish up.

How could he not win the MVP though? I mean sometimes you can make the argument "Well this guy was more important to his team but this guy was the better player", but there is nobody close to as good as Lee right now. Maybe Pujols, but between the two I think Lee should win it (unless he falls off the face of the earth)

Carlos Lee has been a pretty bomb hitter for a while now, but I think the White Sox were right to trade him. They were based on power hitter types and it didn't work, they are obviously a lot better off with more speed and small ball.

Too early to say. Sure, at this point, of course he should be MVP. Pujols, Delgado and a few others may have something to say before it's over.

Being the cubs fan i am . I should have already made this topic. I've been talking so much shit to friends about that Lee trade. Lee was the man when he played for the Marlins.

Been a long time since the Cubs have had a player this complete. Watching Sammy Sosa hit home runs became repetitive. Probably because he couldnt do much else. He was average in the field. Below average at the plate when compared to Bonds and a lot of other sluggers.

At this moment, yes he is MVP. If he keeps playing like this for the rest of the year , the only person that might beat him out for MVP in the NL is the D-Train. If that guy wins 30 games and they somehow make the wild card. Forget about it. Sure there is the Cy Young award but c'mon. A 30 + game pitcher on a playoff team > all IMO.

Now if Lee hits 400. 40hr's and 140 rbi's. That > 30 wins on a playoff team.

Also, my comments about Lee's MVP chances were made just because (I think it was Stima)'s remarks made it sound like he didn't have a chance to, or was unlikely to. The second half is all telling, but as of right now I think Lee is far and away the MVP in the NL. What he has done individually is unbelievable.

Outlaw, I have faith in your Braves. I'm not strong that they win it again, which would be kind of a downer, but I think they will end a hard season with some pride and finish second.

If he keeps going at this pace, I don't have any doubt that he will win NL MVP. If he slumps a little then it's between he, Carlos Lee, and Pujols.

I didn't say he had no shot - I said it's how the Cubs finish up. I think if he can carry them to the playoffs then he will def. win MVP. I don't know if he will get the award if the Cubbies don't make it and Pujols is playing the sameway he is playing now with the Cardinals way out infront.

Well yeah if he wins the triple crown but I don't see that happening though. I hope it does, it would be cool to see something like that go down but It just seems way too tough to lead the league in those 3 categories for an entire season.
