At a SmackDown! house show on July 3rd of this year, Edge was facing Jeff Hardy. As he was running to deliver a spear, he incorrectly planted one of his feet and as he was running to deliver the spear on Hardy, he ended up tearing his Achilles' Tendon.

Pretty nasty shit. There's a ton of debate everywhere, including the IWC, about whether or not he'll ever be able to recover, although the general consensus seems to be he'll be able to be back before WrestleMania XXVI, where they could possibly try to build a program between Edge and Jericho for that event, but that's assuming he'll even be able to return at this point, which is far from guaranteed.
