WWF SmackDown!. Mention that title to a wrestling game fan, and you'll either get a snort of disgust or more likely, wistful appreciation of one of the finest wrestling games ever. WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role is set to send the PlayStation out with a bang.

One of the biggest complaints, and a well-founded one, regarding the original SmackDown! was the abysmal Create-A-Wrestler mode. THQ heard your complaints, passed them on to Yuke's, and from what has been seen so far, they've certainly listened. Expect a vastly improved CAW feature in this game.

And of course, where would we be without modes? THQ and Yuke's have gone over the top. Acclaim always told us a Hell In A Cell mode could never be properly done on the PlayStation. Well, here's mud in your eye, because Yuke's has indeed programmed a Hell In A Cell match for SmackDown! 2. This includes abilities to leave the cell, go on top of it, and relive some of your favorite moments from past matches. Also new to the PlayStation is a fully functional Ladder Match. Seems pretty self-explanatory, doesn't it? Memories of No Mercy 1999 spring to mind...anyway, this mode will simply rock. THQ also finally implemented tables. Yes, tables. And yes, you can move these tables around. Let the drooling commence.

Graphics have been improved, and of course, new moves have been added. All in all, WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role is shaping up to improve substantially upon the original SmackDown!. Reserve your copy now, because you won't want to miss this one.
