As reported earlier, Kevin Nash missed last night’s TNA Genesis pay-per-view due to a staph infection in his elbow. Officials didn’t know for sure that Nash would be off the show until late in the afternoon. Officials were left scrambling and didn’t have many options other than using Kip James as a replacement in the match. The usual jokes popped up backstage due to Nash’s history of missing shows, but he had a legitimate medical issue.
Jeff Jarrett was in a lot pain backstage following his match with Kurt Angle at last night’s pay-per-view. The injury occurred when Angle suplexed Jarrett off the stage and overshot the table that was set up on the floor. Jarrett gutted out the pain and finished the match, but was in rough shape when he came through the curtain. Also, he was stretchered out of the ring for an angle and not due to the injury he suffered performing the spot.
Alex Shelley was telling people backstage at yesterday’s pay-per-view that he wasn’t feeling well, but he showed no signs of illness in his match with Chris Sabin.
