Yoshihiro Takayama became the NEW Triple Crown Champion today, defeating the Great Muta at Sunday’s All Japan Pro Wrestling Pay Per view at the Sumo Hall in Tokyo. With the win, Takayama becomes one of two men to hold all three major singles championships in Japanese wrestling (IWGP Heavyweight Championship (New Japan), GHC Heavyweight Championship (NOAH) and the Triple Crown (All Japan). Kensuke Sasaki was the first to win the grand slam honor, winning the GHC Heavyweight Championship from Takeshi Morishima last September.
John Cena made an appearance on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” last night in the opening skit. Cena played a security guard who was punched out by host (and former cast member) Tracy Morgan. It was a very short appearance and rather surprising since WWE made no mention he would be appearing prior to the show.
