As noted earlier here on the website, WWE Studios’ 12 Rounds starring John Cena will gross an estimated $5.3 million this weekend, which is nearly $2.0 million less than the opening weekend for Cena’s first movie, The Marine. The official number will be released tomorrow. 12 Rounds will finish at No. 7, behind Race to Witch Mountain in its third week out, which is estimated at $5.64 million for the weekend. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s movie came from behind on Saturday as a result of better matinee business. 12 Rounds pulled in an additional $2,100,000 at the box office yesterday. The film drew $1,775,000 on Friday, so it currently sits at $3,875,000. The movie is estimated at doing $1.4 million today.
Speaking of Dwayne Johnson and John Cena, both former WWE Champions were at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards last night. There was no interaction between the two on the show.
