As reported on earlier, Taz is expected to be brought into TNA shortly and it appears the company will be going with an angle where he will act as Samoa Joe’s new mentor. This was briefly teased at the Lockdown PPV on April 19 in a quick backstage segment featuring Joe before he made his entrance during the Lethal Lockdown match.
It should be noted that Taz’s role as the mentor of Samoa Joe doesn’t appear to be anything long-term and there is already said to be talk about his future role in the company after that is done. While nothing has been confirmed at this point, there has been talk of him possibly ending up as a color commentator on Impact.
What this does to the team of Mike Tenay and Don West is unknown as it is possible he could replace one of the two (likely West) or make it a three man team. Again, nothing has been confirmed as these reports are purely speculation at this point.
