» At this past Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Edmonton, Big Show was originally to wrestle Cryme Tyme member Shad. However, plans were changed at the last minute and officials had him wrestle JTG instead.
» The July 31th edition of Friday Night Smackdown featuring Jeff Hardy defending the World Heavyweight Championship against John Morrison drew 651,000 Hispanic viewers for a 2.9 Hispanic rating. While the rating is barely half of what the show drew on a good night two years ago, it was the best Hispanic number in quite some time, behind only America’s Got Talent and Family Guy in the most watched English language television shows among Hispanics for the week on network television.
» In regards to the match on ECW on SyFy on July 28 between ECW Champion Christian and Zack Ryder, there was some talk internally about how Ryder blew up badly late in the match. Those defending Ryder made sure to note that it had been a long time since he had done a match that long since he is rarely booked on house shows and is only used sporadically at TV tapings. Those backstage gave Christian high marks for carrying him and having a strong match on TV.
