As noted last night here on the website, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle was released from jail late last night after posting bond. He was arrested earlier in the day on charges of stalking his girlfriend, Trenesha Biggers (a.k.a. Rhaka Khan). According to an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Angle was served with the order of protection on Saturday morning following an incident earlier in the day. Angle told police he wasn’t stalking his girlfriend but was actually looking for a hotel to stay at since he was asked to leave the residence the couple shared. Angle claimed to police he hadn’t seen her while he was looking for the hotel. Biggers told police that she went to a local Starbucks to contact her family because she was afraid to use her home computer. Angle was then spotted circling the parking lot. Police arrested him due to a violation of a restraining order Biggers filed against him. It appears Angle will be forced to miss at least one television taping day this week as he is scheduled to appear in court in Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning.
Angle is still scheduled to compete on tonight’s pay-per-view where he is scheduled to defend his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Sting and Matt Morgan. Jeremy Borash noted in a post on his Twitter account this afternoon that the title match involving all three participants will be the main event for tonight’s show.
As reported earlier, TNA issued a press release stating Bobby Lashley will be making his TNA in-ring debut at next month’s No Surrender pay-per-view. The promotional poster for the event has been updated to read: “BOBBY LASHLEY – MMA SUPERSTAR MAKES HIS EPIC PAY-PER-VIEW IN-RING RETURN.”
