Some good news for WWE regarding the buyrate for Night Champions on July 26. The show did an estimated 259,000 buys with 166,000 being domestic. This is a big increase from last year’s Night of Champions PPV that did 194,000 buys (128,000 domestic). This is the second largest WWE “B” PPV of the year only behind the No Way Out PPV in February that did 272,000 buys (172,000 domestic). This year’s Night of Champions was headlined by CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion (Hardy beat Punk for the title), Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H in a triple threat for the WWE Championship and Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Intercontinental Champion John Morrison will be WWE Universe’s Superstar Q&A Guest during the WWE Breaking Point live chat. This special Superstar Q&A session will begin at 7:30 p.m on fans.wwe.com.
The WWE website has removed John Morrison’s scheduled Intercontinental title defense against Dolph Ziggler from the Breaking Point pay-per-view line-up. Jim Ross wrote in his latest blog that the match has been moved to a time To Be Determined. “It looks as if the pending John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler IC Title bout will take place after Sunday’s PPV at some point TBD,” Ross wrote. “I have high expectations for this rivalry and feel that these two men can have a heck of a series going forward.”
