I know it’s been a wild week with the Hulk Hogan to TNA news. I’ve posted a lot of exclusive information over the last few days. We’re trying our best to keep you updated with the latest. From what I’ve seen, we’ve had more news on this situation than any other website on the ‘net and traffic is definitely way up this week. Thanks for all your continued support of the website! We really appreciate it.
With that being said, here is some information recapping TNA’s signing of Hulk Hogan and the announcement on Tuesday in New York City at Madison Square Garden.
* TNA’s office staff was informed that Hulk Hogan was coming into the company around 15 minutes before the press conference in New York City on Tuesday. We’re told around only five to six people were aware the deal was even happening. This is much like how other signings in the past were handled (Kurt Angle for example). TNA talent was notified via a text message. Eric Bischoff was not mentioned in that text.
* There are reports that the announcement of Hogan’s signing was one of many big announcements to come.
* Despite his signing with TNA Wrestling this week, WWE still has plans to release their “Hulk Hogan’s Unreleased Collector’s Series DVD” set in a few weeks. The DVD is already said to be in the duplication process and there doesn’t appear to be any plans to cancel it. We’re told WWE may end up downplaying the release and market it more as a nostalgic product.
* According to a new press release issued by the “Hulkamania” tour in Australia yesterday, the upcoming November tour was listed as the “only” time Hogan would be appearing in Australia. This appears to be done to stress that Hogan will not be appearing on TNA Wrestling’s tour of Australia in 2010.
