In an update on former WWE wrestler Giant Gonzalez (Jorge González), he is living in a school in Argentina, is wheelchair bound, and has to use a dialysis machine to treat his diabetes. The Argentina Basketball Federation (CABB) initiative, Solidarity, recently went to González’ residence to provide him with home appliances, clothes and medicine. “I feel grateful to CABB Solidarity for this gesture,” González told FIBA.com, the official website of the International Basketball Federation. “It’s good that they remember me at this stage of life.” Prior to joining the wrestling world, González played for the Argentina national basketball team. In 1988, he became the first Argentinian to be drafted by an NBA club when the Atlanta Hawks selected him 54th overall. Though he never played in the NBA, he did remain in America, accepting an offer to compete in World Championship Wrestling for a few years.
