Report: WWE Nixes Melina Injury Angle

There was talk of having Melina attacked backstage and then losing the title to Maryse in a match on this week’s episode of RAW, but as noted earlier, she simply vacated her title. Instead, WWE is doing an eight-Diva tournament over the next few weeks to determine a new champion.

Melina suffered an injury in a match on Dec. 29 in Manchester, N.H. and underwent an MRI on Monday, which confirmed that she tore her left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Due to this, she will be out of action for six months.
