The Los Angeles Times is reporting that WWE Friday Night SmackDown! will be moving to the Syfy network, an affiliate of WWE’s longtime cable partner, USA Network. WWE is likely to make an official announcement later this week.
The program will continue to air on Friday nights when it moves to Syfy later this year, most likely in either late September or early October.
Syfy will reportedly pay $30 million to air WWE SmackDown!, up 50% from the $20 million WWE has been getting from MyNetworkTV.
WWE SmackDown! has been on network television since its inception nearly eleven years ago.
We’ll post more as we get it but this is obviously huge news.
