More On The 6 WWE Releases Today, Maria Note, Lilian, SD!

— As announced this afternoon, World Wrestling Entertainment has released Mickie James, Katie Lea, Shelton Benjamin, Slam Master J and Jimmy Wang Yang. It would appear that WWE’s decision to cut James was sudden as she competed at Tuesday’s SmackDown television taping in Uncasville, Connecicut. Fans will have the opportunity to catch her one final time inside a WWE ring tomorrow night on Friday Night SmackDown! as she teams up with Beth Phoenix to take on Michelle McCool and Layla. Furthermore, WWE deleted all profiles of today’s released performers off of WWEUniverse.com. James and Burchill, among others, held accounts on the social networking website. WWE has also removed James and Yang from its follow list on Twitter.
