WWE sent out the following press release today…
ASTRONAUT BUZZ ALDRIN TO HOST COMMERCIAL-FREE WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW®
USA Network and World Wrestling Entertainment® announced today that pioneering Apollo astronaut Buzz Aldrin will guest host a special two-hour commercial-free Monday Night Raw live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario on May 17 at 9 PM ET / 8PM CT on USA Network. Aldrin will be appearing under his official WWE name “Rocket Hero.”
Aldrin, a former Dancing with the Stars contestant, is a proud supporter of President Obama’s new space policy that will follow a flexible path approach for exploration with Mars, as opposed to the moon, as the new goal. In Magnificent Desolation: The Long Journey Home From the Moon, a memoir by Buzz Aldrin with Ken Abraham, the world-renowned astronaut describes his fantastic journey to the moon. Magnificent Desolation will be available on paperback starting June 1.
The space advocate also recently released the iPhone App, Buzz Aldrin Portal to Science and Space Exploration, available immediately for $1.99 on Apple iTunes and App stores. The App takes the user on a journey through the world of space exploration.
The legendary space hero joins an already prestigious list of celebrity guest hosts, including Emmy-winning actor Jeremy Piven, NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal, television legend Bob Barker and Ryan Phillippe, Kristen Wiig and Will Forte from the cast of the feature film MacGruber.
