» World Wrestling Entertainment has signed Joe Anoa’i to a developmental contract. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Sika and younger brother of former WWE World Tag Team Champion Rosey. He’s listed at 6 toot 3, 280 pounds. It was largely expected Anoa’i would enter the world of professional wrestling in case he didn’t make it in the NFL. He was a first-team All-ACC defensive tackle at Georgia Tech in 2006, his senior year. After going undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft, he was signed by the Minnesota Vikings. Upon being released by the Vikings, he was signed by the Eskimos, and accepted a spot on the team’s practice roster.
» Sid Vicious was scheduled to appear for Dreamwave Wrestling on June 5th in LaSalle, Illinois but no-showed the event. The promotion received word on the morning of the show that Vicious had not boarded his flight and as a result, spent all day trying to get in touch with him. When promotion officials finally reached him, he said that he forgot to bring his passport to the airport, and thus was prohibited from boarding his flight. Although it should be noted that Vicious was flying from Memphis, Tennessee to Chicago, Illinois and a passport isn’t required to fly within the country. Of course you do need an official state ID (drivers license, etc.) to check-in but definitely not a passport as he apparently claimed.
