— As reported earlier here on the website, Rey Mysterio was scheduled to appear on RAW this week to face the Miz but he is having inner ear issues so The Big Show was brought in instead. Now that RAW and SmackDown! are both under the NBC/Universal umbrella, WWE plans to have more interaction between the two brands.
— WWE will return to the New York City market as they have an event scheduled for the Nassau Coliseum on February 1st with a WWE SmackDown! taping. That will be the first SmackDown! telecast following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
— As noted earlier, this week’s WWE NXT will feature Maryse and Ted DiBiase showing up with the intent on “breaking up” Goldust and Aksana’s wedding.
— Hillbilly Jim has launched a new business, “Hillbilly Jim’s Beef and Turkey Jerky”. He plugged this on his Sirius satellite radio show this past weekend.
